Oh dude, welcome to another way BL ruins lives. Basically there are three different "genders" besides m/f which is Alpha (superior) Beta (regulars) and Omegas (the ones that get a lot of shit dumped on them) so it's different from story to story but generally Omegas male or female can get pregnant and they have heat cycles. There's a lot more to it than that but that the gist of it. There's a lot of trash omegaverse but some of it is pretty good. If you want I can recomend some

Alphas have...distinct dicks, like when a male animal ejaculates, a part of its penis swells up into a bulb, so if they ejaculate inside a female (or in this case an omega or a female), they're tied to them because they can't get their penis out. This must be to facilitate breeding ¯_(ツ)_/¯
