I read the first chapter of the novel, so...
From what i understood, there is 5 contries on the continent and they follow the same religion. The center of the religion is a temple in a netral region. The temple found a dragon egg which is impossible to destroy. The only way to destroy is too follow what happened in the past. For that they need warriors with the the blood of the five royal families. So the five emperors need to sent their crown princes to the temple.
The FL is part of the royal family but she is the niece of the emporer. Her mother was the sister of the emporer and she fell in love with a knight and got pregnant. She died giving birth.
The emporer is the second son and he has stolen the crown of his older brother, which is against the rules of the religion, so everyone hates him. He is scared that his son Leo (crown prince) will be killed so he sends his niece which is forgotten by everyone to the temple.

I dont get her dad I thought he hated her because she was born outside his marriage bed, but he loves his second daughter who is born out wedlock too and looks like mini FL. O_o
Apparently, the dad slept with a maid, got her pregnant. that's he had to marry her because she threatened to make a ruckus. That's how the marquis and fl's mom got together. The sister's mom on the other hand is apparently someone the marquis actually loves. That's why he hates her, because he was forces into marrying a commoner.
even with that i'm confused on why he has to take his anger out on a child. Like you the one that didn't use protection. And if i was a commoner i would do the same thing. If you think about maybe the maid was trying to protect her own daughter in the end.
So the woman who appears in the first chapter is actually her mom?! I thought she was some woman who the dad married later, because she behaved as if FL was some annoying bug. If the dad married her mom, then she shouldn't be consider as illegitimate child as she calls herself. That's why i was so confused about the whole thing
I don't understand that part either. Maybe it inflates his rotten ego to vent his frustrations on a young,naive kid? Who knows. It's his fault anyway, If he didn't want any kid, he should've used protection or better yet not sleep with the maid at all. And the mother isn't actually all that better. She slept with the marquis with the intention of climbing ranks, so I think it was a calculated move on her part? That's why the marquis said at the end of chapter 14 "clinging on to an innocent man with the hope of climbing ranks just like...." . He's insinuating that she's like her mother, seducing the emperor to climb ranks.
Apparently, that is her mother. The sister's mom lives in a separate mansion. The mom just used the FL to climb ranks and has always been a bystander to all the abuse or just neglected her the same as dad.
To me at the very end of the day, he could have gotten rid of the maid and her if he wanted to. i mean the mother is a maid what power does she have that others don't in other manga's. He's just looking for an excuse and a person to blame. Plus i thought the mother was dead but turns out she's alive. If the mother who people say she is then i don't like her either. I hope both the sisters leave and get away from that family.
