From what i know so far, the trauma is that he was being raped (it happened to be a girl riding him) but everyone dismissed it as not rape because "men can't get raped by women", "you scored". Stuff happens because of it and he got bullied because it was his friend's gf (who he happened to have crush on), word of him being gay might spread cs he said it was rape, etc

Hmm I see, well my guess is that he was closeted but actually already have come term with his sexuality before the thing happened, maybe see himself as a bottom. Then being top become harder or too much for him to enjoy after that
