The mugos represents the three parts of human personality. The benevolent one is the Superego, jerk guy is the Ego, third one is the ID which might explain his erratic behaviors, and needs that were driven by basic desires like his extreme hunger.

Waah his dreams are scary. I get this feeling it could be glimpse of the future, or, he's not actually dreaming of being in the original Hero's place. My take is that taekwon had been through this already and it didn't go well. So, he's having another go in this isekai life, and is dreaming of his past life.
