p.s. All the werecats have a human mother because female werecats don't exist in this series (this info is from another volume in Sakyo Aya's neko series)
Ah, but I think the female children of werecats carry the 'gene' for it, so for instance Kagami's family is really proud of their leopard gene so they choose a bride that has a werecat gene (preferably leopard) to increase the chance that the offspring of the union will also be a leopard (preferably able to fully transform, unlike Kagami's brother Yuujin and his partner, Takamizawa Ei, who can't transform partially, i.e. cat ears and tail)
