I love these goofy dumbasses so much. They are so cute and so dumb. Does anyone have recommendations on manga/webtoons with a similar relationship dynamic? Two clueless idiots being adorable and doing their best?
All the sexual assault was, of course, terrible to read and it's terrible that it happened, but I am weirdly excited for all the angst when the ML realizes what "he's" done. They're just so sweet and caring towards each other when the ML is "normal." It's going to destroy him and I kind of can't wait to see it.
I will miss this one. There will be an empty space where the joy I felt every update would be. There really never was a bad chapter. The plot was solid from start to finish. And the art. What more could I say about the art that I haven't said already? Gorgeous and detailed and so unique compared to manga with similar storylines. My only wish is that it could have lasted a little bit longer.
I'm not surprised that this story ends with the pairing that the spoilers are claiming. It makes sense, if you look at the ratio of chapters. Much more time is spent on the relationship between certain pairs of characters than others. At this point, I just hope that the relationship progression is done well and it doesn't have feelings or forgiveness happen for undeserved reasons.
Don't get me wrong, the spice is delicious, but I stopped right in the middle of scrolling to stare at the armor on Gjord's legs, because there's no way those greaves are working at all with how loose they are around his calves. Just me?
I'm sorry, I know we've got more important things going on in this chapter, but I find it so funny that Soowon is giving advice like, "as someone with experience in being the Bad Guy, I would absolutely threaten Hak to hurt Yona." Like, of course he'd know.
As of right now, it doesn't seem like it will happen, but I'm desperately hoping that the ML falls first.
I really wish we hadn't had that light-hearted, goofy opening to the season. It's really taking the impact out of all the dramatic stuff that's happening right now. Of course, there's novel spoilers and the type of story this is, so it was always safe to assume there would be a happy ending, but it feels different now that we've had in-story confirmation that everything will be alright. Maybe it's just me, but it feel harder to invest in anyone's feelings, knowing that the conflict will resolve to the point that they can have a silly shopping trip together, with no apparent consequences from what's going on right now.
I was not expecting this manga to address economics and capitalism at all, and it was very refreshing to see a manga about "a noble girl becoming a commoner" actually address things like choosing to work instead of going to school and affordable food options and whatnot. I like it!
New favorite character is officially the friend who immediately decided to get herself a man even better than the wealthy and handsome love interest, and has secretly spent the whole story finding and wooing the crown prince of another country. Where is her web novel? Because I need to read it.
God DAMN, the art for this manga is so fine. Just so fucking gorgeous. We really don't get dramatic and detailed panels like this in shoujo anymore.
I've actually always wanted a story to do this: actually showing the bad events playing out before rewinding time. Flashbacks just don't hit the same, especially in the very beginning of a story. This felt just so much more meaningful because it wasn't immediately obvious (until the end of the third chapter) that time would rewind, so I actually felt bad about all the shitty things that happened instead of waving them away because I knew time would rewind and everything would turn out fine. It only lasted 3 chapters, but I am grateful nonetheless.
This is by far one of my favorite BL manga, and I am so happy to have finally been able to read a translation of the final volume. I'm definitely purchasing the whole series.
My favorite BL ever finally getting a 4th volume translation??? YES! Thank the gods!!! And thank you, translators!!!!!! I'm so pumped!!
I think(?) I like that the sin of sloth is manifesting as depression, but I'm not entirely sure. It's interesting, because I don't think I've ever seen it portrayed that way, but I also don't think it's a great idea to portray mental illness as a sin. Maybe the true sin of sloth will be revealed as the inaction of those in power to actually support the boy in a meaningful way? We'll have to wait and see.
So... Slen assaulted Toguto, right? Slen said he needed many partners, pushed Toguto down, Toguto said "stop," the panel faded to black, and Toguto says he hates Slen and will never forgive him for what he did that day. That's assault, right? Or is he talking about how he discovered on that day that Slen was being unfaithful? Either way, I'm much less supportive of them being in a relationship now. Give them both someone less toxic to be with.
Thought about this the other day and came back to reread it. I agree the MC is frustrating, but I don't hold it against him. He's got trauma and his poor qualities are just manifestations of that trauma. It makes sense for him to act the way he does. What truly drives me nuts though, to the point that I want to punch a wall and tear my hair out, is the fact that the girlfriend forgave and took back that vile, cheating, pedo son of a bitch. Absolutely mind-boggling that she found that acceptable enough to begin dating him again and the fact that, as far as we know, he got his happy ending. Hate it. Burn him with fire.
Damn. I knew Cheneau had been stabbed but the author really did kill him off-screen. We sure are whittling down the amount of love interests Iana has. I wonder if we'll keep it at 3 or if someone else is gonna die next. We can only wait and see~
