In a previous chapter, iirc, the translator had a note about how the toddler/father timeline is separate from the adult/adult timeline. The author did so to appease both sides. It's fine if you don't or do ship them. Let's all be civil and respectful of one another and enjoy what we're reading

I think they might have a small discussion about it in chapter 10-11. They're in a bedroom and talking quite a bit. Sorry I can't give a better answer. It's been a long while since I MTL'd it for myself and I don't feel like redoing it. There's currently 14 chapters in total, so they probably address it more later on.
