Yeah, it doesn't wok and sometimes makes things worse. Basically, if it's immediately after the white wine just dilutes the red, something that you can do with water or alcohol. When it comes to red wine speed is key, so if you wash the item quickly it has far less chances of staining, but if you wait till it's dried the only thing that has worked for me has been bleach
