The story isn't dragging, they're just very short chapters, maybe they don't have enough time or they're not fast but that's okay. And it was shown that she changed her appearance to look different and well.. to get her job, so she had to look "good/hot" to take advantage of her boss. And who doesn't like a hot, badass woman, I certainly do. (￣∇￣")

Ikr, they are in the know of the other's affections but even I am unsure if they are officially dating or not lmao. Of course it's still early to publicize the relationship all over the media for them, but what about us readers who've been suffering from primary till now almost getting into late 20's 300+ chapters and still in the talking status is crazyyy for a romance genre to be this slowburn. It's hell burning and have they even gone on a proper romantic date bfore?! Nooo

Right that's pretty insane but how old is she nowadays? I suddenly remembered Kyouko once had a surprise birthday party celebration when she was 18 or something with the Prez's grandchild being in charge. Oh that was such a sweet and nice chapter

She’s still in high school and doing her exams, like where in the world does she find the time lmao. I haven’t read it in years and suddenly had the urge yesterday and just realised she isn’t even 20 yet? Haven’t even graduated?? And Tsuruga Ren is 21 22?? Like wtff, I totally thought he was past his mid twenties. The character look so old lmao

Ren is barely 22? NO WAYYY I thought he's much more older like mid 20s given how renowed he is an experienced actor who's also reputed as a lady killer

That’s exactly what I was thinkingggg. He is regarded as this big shot veteran but he’s barely past 20. Then again, there is also his crime backstory then double identity, his genius dad and so on and on. He is such a unique character even in the skip beat world, he is living in a completely different genre than the rest of the characters lol

I love Skip Beat, but that plot hole is what always bothered me. I actually don't see the point of Kyoko being 17 (right now). The author could have made 18 or 19, and Ren 24 or 25, as both are legal adults. But then, Japanese people are obsessed with youthful appearances

Honestly, I think the author forgot Kyoko’s age as time went by. I think she wrote the story when she was really young and as the years passed by, the author matured and didn’t relate to a young girl story anymore and kinda forgot it. (Which was true, I just checked and the author was 23 when she first started the series in 2002 danm) that’s why Kyoko felt more like a grown woman than a teenager. Plus she dragged it for too long and didn’t have good set in stone plot for the story. I doubt it will finish bc she’s 55 now. Honestly she should just write a novel for us at this point

She didn't lose track of her age at all. This manga has monthly releases, but the passage of time in the story is obviously completely different. If they sidelined all the acting stuff to make the romance progress faster, I probably wouldn't love this manga as much.
