Ok so bare with me, I have only read the first volume and so I still need to read the rest. I just want to get some things off my chest before I continue on

I have to get this off my chest as a black person. This is the only yaoi I’ve read that has a main character as a black person. I do like that he’s not overly dramatized as a black character with ridiculous drawn lips and wild hair. He just looks like a black guy, I do love his dreads. But it does suck that he’s in prison, can’t have my cake and eat it too. Most other yaoi/BL I’ve read that have dark characters are typically not human (a demon or animalistic character) or some made up ethnicity (like in Mother’s Spirit- DON’T get me wrong, I absolutely ADORED Mother’s Spirit) or are just actually tanned (most of the time it’s a girl that just tans really well), so if anyone knows of any other yaoi/BL that has a black main character, I’d love to know of more!!


First off vol. 1 is a rollercoaster of just E V E R Y T H I N G

I’ve read BL that did have homophobic slurs and insults, it of course added to the characters pain and development. It allowed the reader to understand his surroundings. But I don’t think I’ve read a yaoi that said f*g so many times before. I get that it’s a prison manga, I’ve only ever read one other prison one, but I got out of it quickly (it just got boring and confusing for me) so I guess I’m not used to the amount of blatant homophobia (even though it was definitely true that Sword was just a bisexual homophobic guy, he just didn’t want to admit he was bisexual...?) also this is my first time ever reading a manga that had the N word in it. And it wasn’t even like the way black people say it to each other. That white guy legit said it with an -er. My eyes were like (⊙…⊙ )...like he legit said N*gger.

Also I immaturely giggled at the chapter titled ‘Sexual Chocolate’

I was also confused at the term ‘yellow cab’ I got it’s racist undertones by the word ‘yellow’ but I was like, why cab? It wasn’t until that guy talking to Sword was all something about liking ‘yellow cab’s backseat’ and when I understood that one, I felt bad for laughing cause that was so fucked up.

As for the story I was kinda confused. It was confusing but still on the same page at the same time. I think I got it now at the end of vol. 1. I do feel bad for Norman though. Unlike that kook from earlier, Norman actually seem to have it more together mentally and emotionally (not so sure about now though) and he was a writer ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶ , I guess I’ll find out as I read more how his character develops I guess.

I’m confused as to why Banam did what he did, like with Rix’s butt.

Just by reading the authors’s other work like 1866 and Incidentally Living Together, you know they can make a great drama and tragedy

Cho-ah, his poor boy. If he ever remember the severe trauma deep within his memory, he is going to lose it. The actual memory and the way he feels now with Mujin...it would be so conflicting it would only add to the trauma. There is no way this pretty boy can ever redeem himself. I pity Cho-ah and all that he is going through. He had so much trust in Mujin, but that man legit did a 180 on him and murdered to keep what he wanted. Unless he just never remembers, I don’t see a happy ending for the both of them. Even if it were to end now, it’s not so much as a happy ending for the reader since we of course know what happened. Truly, ignorance is bliss in this situation. ╥﹏╥

So I love this. So far it’s different than other office romance that deals with the one guy who can do it all and is perfect but mean to his subordinates, especially mean to his em would-be love interest. Sure Kim is a workaholic, but he isn’t ridiculously rude to S (I can’t remember the spelling of his name for the life of me). I will say I absolutely LOVE AND APPRECIATE the translation group that did a lot of the story organizing at the end of the chapters (up to chp 9). It really helped me understand who was who and what role they had, especially with office talk and etiquette. Of course though I still appreciate the other translators work and posting!! ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

It was not only utterly ADORABLE but there were three boys who likes him and the characters were created so well that it was actually difficult for me to stick to a ship lol. No one was a complete and utter ass (well the red head kinda, he just just snobby) that I was like, NO
I did want the him to get with the kid with the mole though. Like at first I was like ahh noooo, but then it just grew on me. I feel bad and I want them to keep their friendship, but idk I guess that’s hard. I know I’m not good with developing romantic or sexual relationships, not really into it, so sometimes love triangles can be confusing for me to understand why. I am happy that it has a happy ending and it was very realistic with the idea of not everyone wins. Even the good guys lose ya know. I guess I just tend to lean towards the loser in things （/TДT)/

I also cried a lot when Dandelion died. Like, I felt like he was gonna die, and when he didn’t I was so relieved. But then he did and I WAS UTTERLY DEVASTATED and THEOOOO

I binged this in two days. At first I messed up and started to read this one before the other one. I wasn’t all that confused, but I was confused on Shin and Wolfgang’s relationship because it seemed to have happened out of nowhere. Omg I am SO GLAD THAT I WENT TO THE OTHER KINGS MAKER TO READ SEASON 1 (I didn’t know that the two kings makers were different seasons, I thought they were just two different uploads) Omggg this kept me on my toes and I utterly love it. It’s fascinating and magical and just FUCKING AWESOME. I am so scared rn since Shij brought up the fact that Wolfgang needs a queen, but like biiccchhh HE WANTS YOU. YOU WANT HIM. Lol I don’t love or hate the omega universe, but it’s times like this when I wish certain aspects of the omega universe could just pop up in a story!

Ok I will admit, that I do like Raymond. I like the person he is when it’s just him and Ian because that legit comes off genuine to me. As much as I do want Ian and Raymond to just fucking elope and move away somewhere far like some fairytale, I doubt that will happen. I feel that Raymond either WON’T give up the princess and Ian will live in regret or WILL, but it will be too late (PLEASE LET ME BE WRONG-but no spoilers). Ian definitely deserves better, but I don’t blame Nathan (or was it Michael, I forget his name rn) for getting mad at Ian. I don’t like how lightly he took Ian’s past suffering as a way to be talented though. Ian has been through a lot and the boy does need a break and a healthy relationship. He literally can’t help his feelings towards Raymond, but it is up to Raymond to actually do what’s expected for that relationship to work, outside of the bedroom sex and sweet talk.

Ok so we ALL KNOW that he definitely shouldn’t end up with Keith, but on the other hand, WE ALL KNOW that he will because... （￣へ￣）
