In short no Abel doesn’t “die” again - Karas saves him but both pass out and seemingly won’t wake up - they reunite with the army, make a camp and hide Karas and Abel away when the Kings heart show up.
Abel wakes up first and is found by one of the Regas who is working with the Kings Heart and is thrown into the Regas tent which is then set on fire killing all the Regas inside accept the “evil” one. Everyone thinks Abel is dead again but he actually escapes into the forest.
The Kings Heart have framed the army for all this stuff that has gone on and so forbids any members from entering the Capital meaning when Karas goes in he will be on his own.
The season ends with Karas waking up and asking where Abel is…..
If you want a spoiler for how the novel goes from there that’ll take a while to explain - LoL - there is still quite a lot of the story to go
