To me it seems like the egg use mc's mom dark energy to hunt mc. To make his life as miserable as possible and mc seems to realized that??? I mean, mc was like if he doesn't get his emotion in check demon guy wil- then later on, mom's silhouette appeared behind him and he gets all these kind of emotion bursting forth.
Egg demon is a demon, he doesn't understand love. He just doesn't. Love is for human being only(I mean if there is love then hate too so I feel like other being- let's not touch this subject.
Anyway, mc seems to love, like, depend, resign, regret on the demon egg. If he were to be like f it all, he'll be alone. He only have egg demon and he feel very attracted to him(sexually, emotionally). But after his mom got killed, he realized what a demon represent even if he(egg demon) is very "truthful" to him. Its like forbidden, tocix and just impossible for this relationship to work.
But at the same time, to me, it seems like the inability to love is an emotion that is the downside of this mind reading demon. Since he can read minds, there has to be a downside, which seems to be love. If other demon can come and create contract w human, then they must have an emotion strong enough to temp them, especially if these demon stay till contractor died. It's a yin yang thing to me.

This reallys hits home, i'm depressed and it's just like that, sometimes i can be all day in bed and i don't wanna do anything, i don't care about anything, i 'm glad the author doesn't make her depression just go away because it really doesn't happen like that
