I’ve read a lot of esper guide stories and from what I understand is that in this story’s concept if Eve’s number on his nape fades in color it might lead for him to go on a rampage and it was stated in the previous chapters that they might have to put him down if no one takes him luckily Adam took care of him. Espers are paired with Guides to keep their emotions in check and keep them sane and stable so Eve’s color fading is a bad sign.
