I happen to like reading drama and tragedy and intense storylines like this. Because I'm enough of an adult to know the difference between fiction and reality and I can enjoy some hot dudes doing hot shit without thinking its okay to do to real people. It's really not hard to separate.
The people thinking that reading about toxic characters makes it happen inbreal life are the same people that say you will become a criminal committing war crimes if you play call of duty
