The story is interesting itself and it feels like the MC is a side character in a typical BL storyline.
However, I find him unlikable so far. He’s way too obsessed over a guy who is obviously a terrible person and gives a zero fck about him. On top of it, he can see how he treats the ones he “likes”, why would you desire for it? On top of it, the way he hates Taesan is just… ugh.
Also, the MC and Yohan seem to be the main couple. Both trying to hide their sexuality, but in a way that actually blocks them from going anywhere further. Jun had a chance to out himself, but he was the first to use term “dirty/disgusting”, then Yohan did the same when Jun wanted to open up. And we can see that Yohan is doing all of his stunts for him, but because of them Jun wont be able to say anything.
The only fun plot twist would be if TaeSan grows up in a bigger person, get himself out and kind of comes back being all in love with Jun… and we have a bit normal story from there onwards.
If you want stories with no babies, just call them regular smut webtoons. Why would hou call something omegaverse with no omegas and pregnancies? That’s the whole point of the genre..
I wouldnt say so. I think its phenomenal its somehow makes a gay relationship even gayer, gay² if you will. Omegaverse give a straight pan to gay relationships, so an alpha gettng pegged by beta/other alpha is one of my fav dynamics, cause even though lie a straight guy his instinc should be A like gay irl- it went B. So yeah Gay². I rest my case.
Also really like dynamic of alpha uke and omega seme. I need more of these but i only found 3. Idk feel wrong to me to be like 'its omega verse so the alpha should impregnate the omega like god intended' kinda feel like the same arguments of those crazy folks in america. In a way . Sure seeing a cute couple with a baby in the end is always nice, but its always so nice to have this norm break.
I guess for me if I go to a restaurant I want to eat the restaurant's food, I'm not bringing my usual home cooked meal. I wouldn't exactly call it "braking the norm" when it's just reverting back to what the genre was breaking the norm from.
nothing against these type of stories, I would love to see an omega x omega one, but it's an entire universe manly created for mpreg, of course I want to see the babies
that's because you only see omegaverse as mpreg but the whole worldbuilding doesn't revolve around getting a man pregnant if so just put a transman there and the issue is fixed. There are also the concept of pheromones and fated partner that can change the whole dynamic. It's not because it's a french restaurant that they won't serve a burger only it's a revisited burger with a different sauce
Fun fact mpreg didn't really become part of the omegaverse until after it's official conception. The orginal concept of omegaverse was based off of two things
1) The Star Trek Vulcan mating ritual "Pon Farr" where they go into a cycle of needing to either mate (or in Spock and Kirk case fight) or they will die.
2) A subidea in the concept of b!tching where a man bottoms so much he gets more feminine features i.e he gets prettier, his thing gets smaller, and his hole gains the ability to get wet without the need for lube.
So the whole mpreg stuff was more of an after thought in conjunction with omegaverse. The babies was more of a why not kinda thing.
Also sorry for the info dump. ( ̄∇ ̄")
It is most definitely NOT the whole point of the genre. mpreg is only one part that can exist in this universe, it’s not the inherent focus. There’s so many more interesting things that can happen besides a dude getting pregnant. Mating bonds for example, or seeing a balance of human vs instinct. Also The ML here is an alpha who goes into rut which can’t exist outside omega verse so no, it can’t be just labelled as “regular smut”.
I didn't want to be long-winded before, it wasn't necessary to address the first reply.
I very much do love the world building, societal treatment of omegas and everything that it's been pointed out in the comments (also thanks @kris), but it all essentially goes out the window when you remove the omega.
other pairings aren't really creating any new themes, aside for maybe "biological unsatisfaction" which rarely gets actually fulfilled, in most cases you wouldn't loose a lot if it was a non-omegaverse story with a straight men

I was worried that WooYeon will again act as sh*t. He did it when he was kid, always shifting blame on others.
WooJin did a bad thing, but in the end both of them enjoyed it… poor baby
