Youjin is a grey character that'll ultimately come to like uke like a friend and be like "why are you so gullible can't you see he doesn't like you, did he ever confess? Espers are playboys so why are you trying to be loyal as a coveted S class guide?! Have more confidence!!" There's more stuff involved where Youjin IS responsible for a BIG misunderstanding between the couple that wasn't intentional on his part. And he does kinda pay for it too.

OK so from here onwards we'll see the story more from the ukes perspective. Seme asked haechang and youjin to look after his guide while his team was in the dungeon so uke stayed at the national bureau the whole time.

Youjin kept badmouthing Owen cuz he realized Owen was an SS esper and didn't choose him. He was bitter and jealous cuz he gave up Owen for haechang back in high-school, he kept taking it out on uke but uke was unfazed. Whenever youjin talked shit about how uke was stupid blind and that Owen will never love him, uke agreed with him cuz uke is extremely insecure about himself and underconfident, not to mention, Owen already said that he was using uke during their first night (though he doesn't remember anymore) Uke is constantly thinking "as long as I can stay close to him, I don't mind being used, I don't mind being in this unrequited love maybe he'll love me if I'm sincere".

What started out of hatred slowly turned into concern on youjins end, he kinda grew attached to uke cuz he reminds everyone of a gentle Labrador, he said the same things to uke again but this time out of concern " Can't you see espers are playboys? Why give your devotion to him, you're an S class guide, Espers are supposed to be at your feet not the other way around!! He's extremely cunning and will keep you around only if you're useful" The uke again is saddened but doesn't respond.

The dungeon is being livestreamed on TV and the two watch it from time to time along with the whole nation tuning in while commenting and everything. There are some gory scenes as the onaip members trudge through, when they reach the final boss, it's a very brutal battle but they win duh. And the dead final boss's body soon morphs into a pretty boy that Owen hugs and so do the Onaip members as they gather around to hold the dead boy and cry. Owen lays him to rest saying "you can finally be free".

Since the whole nation is watching the netizens scramble to decode the identity of the dead boy, there are forums where it's discussed that Owen's initial team during their first SSS dungeon venture had a guide nicknamed Piano. Yes, this boy was the much awaited official guide the team had before uke joined. The new guild formed by Owen called "Onaip" was just piano spelled backwards. There was a whole thread about Owen and the guides love story, how Owen was heartbroken after he lost his guide to the monster, how he spent years just to take this revenge, how their love story was the epitome of TRUE love etc etc. Uke is of course reading all this... And youjin now feeling sorry for the uke runs his mouth again how Owen was never trustworthy to begin with and how the netizens, if they find out Owen has a new guide, are going to tear the guide apart. Think a fan dating a Korean idol Level threat... Onaip finally returns from the dungeon but doesn't go back home immediately. Their identities have been exposed, they're technically all rich guys now international celebrities. Their guild has become top rated, dethroning Haechangs national bureau, so guides are scrambling to join, swooning over Owen and team....

OK so while the team was still in the dungeon, youjin urged uke to guide their national bureau espers and since uke was bored he agreed to only do surface Level guiding. Many espers soon started having a crush on uke and youjin also kept advising uke to find new people to date since he'll always be the one in high demand. Uke refuses but youjin reminds him that high class espers are notorious for having multiple partners since they have to keep their powers in control. Haechang is an S class Esper who is bonded with youjin but even he secretly gets guidance from other guides, but since he already acknowledged youjin as his public bondage partner and hides his affairs, youjin turns a blind eye since he too has multiple partners. To conclude, youjin says there's no concept of loyalty when powerful espers and guides are concerned. Not to mention an Esper like Owen who is SS class and technically a celebrity...

Hearing Youjins words uke is reminded of how Owen has had multiple partners before him, and he's only being used. Owen in the meantime is interviewing an S class female guide to hire. The female guide is very much into Owen and makes it obvious she's open to friends with benefits or a one night stand too. Owen refuses but doesn't explain why out of all the guides applying for Onaip, she was chosen. He's also hiring/getting guidance from multiple guides and it's covered by media too. Uke hears about this from National Bureau since they're not exactly trying to hide it. Uke is heartbroken, he realises that he can never take pianos place nor have a place in Owen's heart.

Owen on the other hand is extremely excited to return. How should i explain his mental state... He after clearing the dungeon feels extremely relieved, like a burden that weighed down on him for 10 years finally lifted. Now he's looking forward to spending time with uke and cant wait to bed him again. He has never felt like this before but he does NOT dwell on WHY he's feeling this way. He's way too confident in himself, he believes since uke is completely wrapped around his finger, to the point he'd cry out of jealousy, he doesn't need to explain or understand his feelings. Uke makes him feel extremely proud. Owen never bothers to clarify anything to uke since he likes seeing him squirm around Owen with heart eyes and desperate for affection, he's extremely narcissistic in this part of the novel and thoroughly enjoys ukes affection without feeling the need to reciprocate those feelings since he believes the uke will never leave him.

Owen finally returns, they have a reunion, Owen is extremely happy and becomes overly affectionate acting like a real boyfriend since he believes that uke is his and he can now, after fulfilling pianos last rites, unreservedly love the uke. But uke thinks its all an act, since from the beginning owen has been a great actor, not to mention, OWEN NEVER CLARIFIES anything about his feelings or mentions being serious about uke, he just love bombs uke making uke even more heartbroken at how he's being played so well he cant help but believe his lies... Owen even gifts him the final boss's core that was now infused with Piano's guiding powers so it now had a protection affect, aka it triggers a barrier around the wearer when he feels threatened. Uke is further distraught on receiving Owen's dead lover's keepsake.

They have sex, but uke is kinda distant and seme notices, but he thinks he'll wait until uke wants to talk about it since they have plenty of time together now. Seme also wonders if uke is upset about the rumour of him and piano being lovers since Piano was actually Owen's biological brother and Cody's boyfriend. Owen himself hid Pianos presence since many tabloids started making up stories about them being incestuous and blatantly shipping them together. Seme wonders if this is the reason why ukes upset but then thinks "Nah, that cant be it I'm sure he's heard from someone" (Like bro you yourself hid that info from the world how would uke know?!?) Anyway, after a long sex scene and seme becoming overly affectionate montage, the guild reopens and Owen arrives. He wonders where uke is then suddenly realises that the new female guide will be joining today and must've arrived early. He rushes to the room because he never clarified about her and was worried uke would misunderstand.

When he entered, he saw uke having a very peaceful conversation with female guide, even welcoming her, Owen is confused and notices the flowers he sent uke are in female guides hand, he makes her give uke the flowers. Gets down on one knee and explains that he forgot to tell uke about her. Uke has kind of come to terms with his position and is unfazed. Female guide however realises the relationship between the two and when Owen and her are alone, Owen threatens her to stay away from uke. She says "I didn't know you guys were dating he's very sweet for someone like you" Owen however threatens that he'll expose to the media that her guide powers are unstable and have harmed espers (he chose her cause he had dirt on her) he reminds her that he only hired her to ensure uke wouldn't have to guide other onaip members. He wants to monopolize uke, even if it's basic guiding he's jealous of his boyfriend being close to other espers. He's also hiring more guides cuz he's trying to create a machine that can suck guidance power from other guides without sexual contact and transfer to him so he wouldn't have to burden uke all the time. But there's an important part of the machine missing since he gave it to the American guild without realizing its importance.

Again HE NEVER CLARIFIES any of this to the uke. He says he's going to America for a week on an important Mission and uke is heartbroken. Youjins words, Piano's love story rumour, Owen hiring more guides and that female guide, are all replaying in ukes mind. So after pre travel sex with Owen and lovey-dovey goodbyes... Uke, realizing he won't be able to face it if he sees Owen with multiple partners, nor if he's suddenly fired for not being useful anymore, he decides to quit on his own violation.


He literally places the letter of resignation on Owen's desk while they're away and packs up to leave. And this will be the start of Owen's wife chasing redemption arc...

So uke doesn't really have a destination in mind to be honest, he already discarded his phone and everything. And since he's got no relatives, he aimlessly chooses a remote area, his directions are very random and he stumbles upon a remote house in the middle of nowhere. He helps the old man there and the man allows him to stay as uke helps out with the chores as payment. If I don't remember wrong he stays there for like 3 months. The place is so remote there are zero travellers or people around. It takes him 4 hours by truck to reach a town of sorts where the old man buys his supplies in bulk but he's mostly self reliant for food and other necessities. That's how the uke discovers he can contact people since the old man's house has no service for miles.

The uke hears the town people discussing how Onaips leader Owen was desperately looking everywhere for a guide. Upon further discussion, he realises people are talking about him and further disguises himself to go unnoticed. He is dumbfounded and wonders why would Owen be looking for him... That's when he suddenly realises he accidentally brought the final boss core with him, since it's on him in the form of a locket and he forgot to return it. Uke thinks Owen might be after the core because uke forgot to return it and it's a really important momento of Owen's lover.

He tries to figure out how to send Owen the core without meeting him and gets the idea of contacting Haechang instead. He comes back to the town alone a week later and calls the national bureau. Haechang picks up and uke explains that he wants to return the core to Owen since he might be looking for it. Haechang goes eerily quiet and asks "where are you" uke immediately wanted to answer but his gut feeling said something is wrong so he doesn't tell Haechang his location. Suddenly there's a crash and uke hears youjins voice telling uke to run as fast as he can and not look back or contact anyone. The phone crackles and in the next instance he hears Owen's voice. Owen in an EXTREMELY gentle voice simple asks "where are you" . uke is too shocked to answer and doesn't respond for a long time. Owen immediately loses his cool and yells WHERE ARE YOU HYOSEOP!!

He sounds really pissed, desperate, scared and psychotic all at once. Hyoseop is so terrified he immediately hangs up. His instincts are telling him to run because he is already too late and Owen is going to catch him any second now. He doesn't understand why Owen is looking for him but he was scared after hearing the paranoia in Owen's voice. He jumps back into the old man's truck and has a fleeting thought to just forget going back to get his stuff and steal this truck to run away. But he discards that thought cuz this truck is the old man's only means of transport in a completely deserted place and his conscience would eat him alive. He nervously drives back to the old man's house worrying that Owen might pop out any moment. But when he finally makes his way back, he calms himself down and thinks "See, you were overthinking, you are not that important to Owen and it's not like he's crazy enough to track you down within 4 hours". He starts planning to leave within a week and find a new place. As he's about to step inside, he spots a figure standing near the house, dangerous and desperate golden eyes were eyeing him hungrily, Owen had found him.

Hyoseop couldn't believe his eyes, he nervously questions Owen why he's here. Owen let's out a sigh of disbelief, he calmly tries to ask why uke resigned and left. There are flashbacks of how when he returned from America, all he found was a letter on his desk, a switched off phone, an empty apartment and Hyoseop missing. The team members assured Owen that Hyoseop would return and probably had an errand or something but 24 hours passed and Owen went crazy, he mobilised all of his team to look for Hyoseop EVERYWHERE for months. Since Hyoseop never had a destination in mind and got lost and stumbled into a remote area with neither people nor phone service, it was absolutely impossible to find him. Owen went crazy looking at every airport, train station, bus stop and was about to dispatch the national army of espers to look for Hyoseop. He went after the purple head and Haechang first and threatened war if he couldnt find his guide. Youjin smirked and said serves you right for treating guides like shit and that Hyoseop finally stood up for himself and he was glad. Owen hadn't had guiding for months and was absolutely livid, ready to strangle youjin and everyone in the bureau if he couldn't find Hyoseop. He was threatening and about to force Haechang to look for Hyoseop when he coincidentally got the call. Haechang realized they were in danger and tried to get Hyoseops location to ward off Owen. But since Hyoseop was smart he had to scramble to find his location and finally met him. Owen voices his frustration about Hyoseop just running away and leaving him like that. But Hyoseop tries hard to Strengthen his resolve and announces he's not coming back and wants to break up. Everything went blank for Owen. Hyoseop... wants to break up? Hyoseop wants to leave him?? How can he live without Hyoseop?!? Owen goes into a downward spiral where he keeps repeating that Hyoseop is his and his alone, that he can't breakup that he won't allow hyoseop to break up and leave him alone. Owen goes absolutely insane and tries to grab uke. This triggers ukes past trauma from his previous relationship with an esper, he becomes terrified of Owen because the way he is acting is exactly how Espers who enter "obsession" act (Obsession is a phenomenon in this world where espers become so enamored with their guides that they abandon all reason and are ready to kill themselves or their guides if it means being together forever. It's just a fancy term for espers becoming "yandere") Owen's actions remind uke of his previous partner and he is so terrified that he triggers Piano's core and it erects a barrier around Hyoseop to protect him from Owen.

When Owen is pushed back by the barrier he is shocked to realise that his Hyoseop is scared of him to the point he triggered the core. Owen is extremely desperate, he wants to smash the barrier with his powers and lock Hyoseop in his arms but is scared his powers might hurt hyoseop so he just stands there not knowing what to do. He is scared of losing Hyoseop, but also scared of hurting him, he cannot let Hyoseop leave as that thought alone is physically hurting him. (This monologue alone is proof that Owen is not under obsession but his love is just comparatively heavy because if an esper was actually under obsession they would very readily break the guides legs or something, but Hyoseop is ptsding so hard he is convinced that he absolutely can't be with Owen after all this)

Just as they're at a stalemate, a massive gate suddenly opens up near the house, dangerously close to Hyoseop. Owen felt like his heart dropped on the floor, he can't get close because of the barrier, can't break it cuz it'll hurt uke, so he begs Hyoseop to run and put some distance between the gate and him. Hyoseop is shocked and runs, but this gate is different, it has shadow like arms creeping out of it and they seem to be after Hyoseop only. They keep chasing hyoseop and aren't affected by physical barriers or piano's barrier. The old man rushes out of the house and the creepy hands start dragging stuff outside the house and into the gate. The old man is distraught and struggles to keep the hands away from his things, hyoseop tries to help and as a result Owen tries to help hyoseop.

Owen realises his powers are useless unless he goes inside the gate to finish up the boss, he asks Hyoseop to promise he'll wait for Owen outside and talk to him first, hyoseop agrees. Owen enters the gate, now being an SS class Esper, he is unfazed by small fry like this shadow monster however, the gate caught Owen at a vulnerable moment, Owen hasn't had guiding in months, not to mention this monster had hallucinating properties. It messed with Owen's head and keept whispering how he messed up his relationship with uke, how uke hates him, and how uke is already dead and the monsters ate him already. Owen doesn't believe it so the monster morphs into a copy of Hyoseop. Owen has to kill it to obtain the core, but after every attack from Owen the Hyoseop inside the gate would start crying and saying "hyung it hurts". Owen would falter and "hyoseop" would viciously attack him. This went on until Owen finally kills it and rushes outside.

But to his dismay, he only finds the old man outside, holding Piano's core. Owen rushes to that man and madly questions where Hyoseop went. The old man points at the shadow gate and mumbles something like "he walked inside". Owen explodes, he rushes back into the gate like a madman, yelling "where is he?!?!" The shadows just laugh at him. He spends hours inside torturing the Neverending shadows only to discover a bag inside that belonged to hyoseop... all that remained... was a bag ... Owen is too scared to even think further. He wonders if Hyoseop hated him so much that he'd rather walk into a gate than be with him, he's drowning in regret when an even more terrifying thought occurred to him "what if the monster he just fought was the real hyoseop?!?" His mental state is in shambles, he refuses to leave the gate, scouring it to find a single clue, cloth, hair anything that proved Hyoseop was OK... He refused to believe that Hyoseop is dead.

Alright people, this is what you've been waiting for, wife chasing arc part 2 and the novel's finale will be the next part. In my past spoilers, I've summed up like 140+ chaps, the next few chapters shed light on Hyoseops's traumatic history with espers.

Uke was very young when his parents and siblings died in a car accident during a gate attack, he was since sent to an orphanage where he was bullied, deprived of food etc. So when he manifested as a guide, S class at that, he immediately accepted a guild's offer since he wanted to leave the orphanage asap. But the guild however, downplayed the dangers of gates and were taking advantage of Hyoseops naivety (Mind you Hyoseop was only 14!) Hyoseop was overworked like a mule due to his class, he already made it clear he didn't want to do more than basic guiding (those sick bastards were salivating over him and wanted to mate bond with him)

Note: This arc was kinda triggering for me so I simply skimmed over it, some details might be missing cuz I stopped reading deeply once I got the gist of it.

Dietrich and his brother were like the top espers in that small guild called BETEL and A class too. Dietrich was obsessed with the uke, he was like 20+. One day dietrichs older brother got injured in a gate and uke was the only guide available at the guild. The brother needed sexual guiding immediately and Dietritch tried to force uke to guide his brother, uke refused again and again. At that point, it was too late, the brother lost control and went on a rampage and inevitably died. Dietrich went insane and blamed uke for killing his brother, hyoseop had never seen an esper die before, that kid was scared shitless. Dietrich convinced uke that he had to atone for his sins and form an imprinting bond with him as repayment, one right over his heart. he never explained how bonds worked and how a heart bond was unbreakable unless one on them died. Uke was ignorant and agreed out of guilt. Over time, Dietrich's obsession grew terrifying and he gave extremely rapey vibes, remember how uke has a special constitution where he emits honey like odour? He would often have wet dreams every few months and Dietrich could sense it as his mated esper. He constantly shamed uke for being a whore, craving Dick and why didn't he save his brother if he wanted a man so bad. Uke obviously has no idea what's going on with his body and Dietrich says "I can't have you acting like a whore around other espers, you're not allowed to go outside anymore" thus began ukes confinement, no TV, no phones, a dark room, no contact with people, only a window. Four years passed just like that.

One day, he met a man named Ren who claimed that Dietrich sent him, but uke knew it was a lie cuz Dietrich would never allow a man to talk to him. Ren was a good esper and after knowing each other for a few months, was horrified on finding what uke went through. He decided to help uke. There was an escape plan he laid out for uke that failed because Dietrich discovered him mid escape and a fight insued. Ren pushed Dietrich to the point of rampage and when Dietrich demanded guiding from uke, Ren begged uke not to save him. As Dietrich felt his end was near, he grabbed uke and kept uttering how uke was a curse and how every esper around him was destined to die. Uke internalized this and has since been terrified of obsession. Ren too unfortunately died in that fight, he was the one who told uke that one day he'll Find a guild that cherishes him, and when he does find good people, he should trust them. That's why uke trusted onaip despite their lies. Uke then stayed in America, there he worked as a manual labourer despite being a coveted S class guide, he never joined a guild. He then returned to Korea and that's how he met onaip.


That was the end of his traumatic flashback. Currently, Hyoseop was residing in Argentina. He actually had a teleportation device that he used when Owen was inside the gate and put random coordinates in to escape. He was found unconscious by the locals, and a kind lady called Selina took him in, she had two kids, a 15/17 year old son called teddy and a middle schooler daughter called Tina. The family absolutely adores Korean culture and uke teaches them Korean and helps them with chores as payment, though Selina keeps insists it's unnecessary. The daughter is smitten with uke and has him promise to marry her one day. Uke is also the hottest bachelor in town but there's a language barrier so Tina is the envy of every young lady. Uke hides his identity as a guide but it's exposed when Teddy manifests as an Esper, uke requests Teddy to hide his truth from the town and any other person he meets and teddy agrees. Teddy aspires to join the national bureau and asks for advice from uke but uke is evasive and says he never worked with many guilds so he is clueless. But he does mention that the national bureau has a very low acceptance rate.

Meanwhile on Owen's side, it's been 6 months since Owen last saw uke, he has been acting like a maniac eversince. The gate that showed up near the old man's house has been classified as a mutated gate. It appears very frequently and has a tendency to go after every guide in its vicinity
Since all gates are connected with each other, Owen has desperately been entering one mutated gate after the other to find uke. He defeats gate after gate, totalling more than 10 a day just to find uke. Owen soon goes from an awe inspiring national hero, to a bloodthirsty powerful madman. He refused every guides advances, and threatens to kill if they came close. The team has been tirelessly working on Owen's orders because whenever they try to tell him to come to terms with ukes death he goes berserk on that person. Owen has lost all sense of reason, he is both happy and sad that he hasn't found ukes body. He wonders if he'll only accept it when he holds ukes cold body like he did with Ano(nicknamed Piano). He regrets his past actions, and wonders if he had only listened more and explained more, if only he hadn't been so indifferent to Hyoseops's feelings... would his hyoseop be standing in front of him? He is too scared to face his past self and desperately tries to find a ray of hope instead. Czerny tries to reason that as a powerless guide... 6 months is impossible for uke to be alive. But Owen is deaf to such comments and insists he has to find uke at all cost. The team members grimly wonder if Owen will be able to survive facing ukes dead body. Since they are working nonstop, Onaip ends up being the no.1 guild in Korea, doing in 6 months what the national bureau with it's army of espers did in years.

Haechang is reviwing Espers to hire, despite Onaips efforts, the gates are showing up way too frequently and the bureau has lost too many guides and espers. Teddy's application is brought by his assistant, usually teddy's powers (barrier defense type) and his age (barely 18) would be rejected by the guild unless S class with experience, but the situation with the mutated gates makes his barrier type powers the best form of protection, to the point where a top guild like National bureau has to accept such a young A class esper.

When teddy receives his acceptance letter, Uke wonders if the situation is much more serious than the media is letting on. Teddy arrives to the bureau for his onboarding process, there he accidentally mentions Hyoseop infront of Haechang. Hyoseop was using an alias 'Jin' so Haechang isn't immediately suspicious, but there aren't many S class guides that aren't registered with a guild so he investigates notheless. When Teddy gets a job, the government asks the locals to evacuate the area since more gates have been showing up there. Selina and family plans on moving to Korea and asks Jin to come with them, but Jin refuses.

Haechang and Owen are about to enter another mutated gate when Haechang finds out that the S class guide near teddy was Indeed hyoseop. Haechangs ambition slowly starts unfolding as he recalls how he came from nothing and took the national bureau from 100 to no.1 guild in the country within a few years, but a naturally gifted rich brat like Owen comes in and overturns all his efforts within months. So when he discovers Hyoseop first, he is all but ready to use him to make his bureau the no.1 guild again.

A few minutes later, the media is horrified to discover that an esper has gone berserk, and it was not an average rampage but an SS Level, aka, Owen had gone berserk! Nobody knows what triggered it, but since Owen stood still they quickly stabbed him with sedatives and tied him to a hospital bed. It was impossible to find a guide that could help Owen since he almost strangled anyone who got near. Youjin is wondering why this happened when Haechang reveals Owen discovered a button belonging to ukes bag inside the dungeon, youjin is shocked and saddened to discover that hyoseop actually walked inside a gate to escape Owen. Hyoseop sees this in the news and is reminded of Dietrichs words, Haechang's call came out of nowhere and was suspiciously well timed. Hyoseop expresses his intention of helping Owen since he is the only guide capable of it, but also expresses how he's terrified of Owen's obsession. Haechang cunningly banks on ukes troubles and further incites him, stating how Owen is indeed obsessed with uke because he is the only guide capable of guiding him and that if he were not useful, he'd be discarded. He then offers uke to join his guild, claiming that he was capable of protecting uke if he wanted to hide and that he has always liked him...

Uke is restless, and says he'll think about it after he helps Owen. Haechang agrees, they inject Owen with hallucinogens so he would not remember the guiding session, Owen finally meets Hyoseop in a delirious state, he thinks for a long time that he's dreaming and would rather die than wake up. He is chained to the bed so he can't touch Hyoseop but when he feels Hyoseop touching him he cries and bitterly voices his grievance. He keeps saying "Don't leave Hyoseop-ah" ukes heart trembles at Owen's desperation, but he suppresses his feelings stating that it was just Owen's obsession talking. Throughout the guiding session, Owen is needy, clingy and desperate to feel more of Hyoseop, to touch him, to kiss him, the chains barely hold him back. And when the uke is about to leave, Owen let's out a heartbreaking whimper "Don't leave hyoseop-ah, please don't leave" Uke runs away without looking back cuz he feels his resolve wavering.

The next day, Owen wakes up with a jolt and looks around for Hyoseop, coda was the one looking after him last night so Owen questions him. But Coda says it was two different guides that helped him last night. Owen is adamant that only Hyoseop can make him feel this refreshed after guiding and insists on meeting the guides that helped him. Upon meeting them, the guides lie that it was Owen's guidance amplifier (the machine he was working on) that helped the guides treat him. Owen is still not convinced but the sedatives force him to forget last night. Just as he's about to drown in helplessness again, the twins rush inside the hospital room, visibly shaken. After much questioning they reveal " Hyoseop is alive!!" Owen thought he was hallucinating again and kept confirming if what they said was TRUE. But the twins didn't let him rejoice as they dropped another bombshell "Hyoseop is with the national bureau now"

Hyoseop changed into his new uniform and is preparing to get introduced by Haechang when he receives some shocking news, he's about to be introduced as Haechangs bondage partner, not just a regular S class guide. Hyoseop is against it and asks about Youjins feelings. Haechang then reveals another shocker, youjin has left the guild and is no longer his partner. Uke questions if he's the reason but haechang denies it and said youjin left on his own accord, he explains that youjin is a proud person that can only accept being in a guild if he's the leader's exclusive bondage partner, since Haechangs priority and feelings now shifted to Hyoseop, youjin had to leave. Hyoseop is extremely guilt laden and says he's against it, Haechang convinces uke that in order for Owen to back off, uke had to be his public bondage partner. Hyoseop signs an agreement to work under the national bureau for an year.

As he is being introduced to the media and the guild, there's a loud bang and the entrance door shatters. Owen walks in panting and locks his eyes on Hyoseop's face. Time stills as neither of them speaks, Owen has a thousand emotions written on his face but most obvious of all, was relief. He was no longer the calm man hyoseop always knew, his lips were trembling and he refused to look away. Hyoseop is extremely relieved to see Owen was doing OK. Haechang broke the silence by trying to take uke away but Owen grabbed him and demanded answers. Haechang revealed that he was now ukes bondage partner, and told him not to touch other people's guides. Owen was simmering with anger his gaze was fixated at hyoseop, what's going on? Hyoseop was nervous, but he had already rehearsed his lines so he tried to draw a clear line by saying it's as you see, I'm now this bureaus guide and I already gave you my resignation letter and I had already told you I want to break up etc etc. But Owen was having none of it, "Who gave you permission... to stand next to another esper? Former... who allowed you to call yourself former when I never intended to let you go! No one can take away my only guide, you are the only guide who can handle my SS abilities, do you know what that means? I'm the esper that the world needs, but you are the ONLY guide I need, the world will ensure that you can never escape me!! Shin Heachang, the national bureau, nothing can stop me. You're mine, i wont allow it, i refuse to endure another moment without you" The more he spoke, the more his hands and voice trembled out of anxiety and sadness.

Haechang once again interrupted them and told Owen to back off, Owen scoffed at him and said what are you gonna do about it? Im an SS rank and I have the right to claim any guide lower ranked than me. Haechang then reveals that he is going to get uke reevaluated since he has to be an SS rank guide if he's able to guide Owen so many times. Owen can no longer claim uke unless uke wants to guide him. Owen suddenly realises that the button he found inside the dungeon was very conveniently placed and accuses Haechang of using cowardly tactics. Haechang denies responsibility and holds Hyoseop by the waist to take him away. Owen throws Haechang across the room and lands punch after punch on his face. His face is a bloody mess. "You think I won't kill you after you backstabbed me after taking my help? I'll kill you, how dare you take away my guide" Owen is unstoppable, and seeing his possessiveness reminiscent of Dietrich, uke spirals into a ptsd episode and collapses, he keeps mumbling he'd rather die than get trapped into an obsession again.

So everyone's at the hospital, uke is diagnosed with reverse guiding trauma, aka that guiding session in the hospital finally took a toll on Hyoseops's S class body. His rank is now fluctuating and dropping to A class. Owen is overcome with regret, he realised that Hyoseop can't handle him either and he might kill his guide if he continues. Haechang manipulates Owen telling him that he's the reason for all of this and he should just leave. Owen doesn't respond for a Long time, he says in a quite voice "I'm leaving him not because of you, but because I can't live in a world where he's not alive, but remember, national bureau will fall. And I will be the one to take it down and destroy you along with it". Haechang once again realises that Hyoseop is his best bet against Owen.

When hyoseop wakes up, Owen is nowhere to be found, Haechang manipulates uke saying your rank has temporarily dropped to A because of Owen, and since Owen realised you aren't useful anymore, he gave up his obsession. Uke doesn't care about his rank but is hurt by Owen leaving him for it. Haechang is surprised at ukes attitude cuz to him, rank is everything. Uke is now very busy attending several events as a representative of national bureau and as a famous figure after his scandal involving Owen, teddy is his bodyguard and driver. However, there was a strange phenomenon, every event that he attended, Owen would attend as well, but all he would do is stare. No participation, socializing or discussing, just a fixated gaze full of yearning, it confused uke since Owen would act like an indifferent stranger every other time they had to interact in public, hadn't he let go of his obsession already? It became a well known rumor in their circle, that every event Hyoseop went to, Owen would follow. Whenever Haechang joined uke, he'd make sure to increase their physical contact to further irk Owen. Owen knew what was going on but still seethed with jealousy everytime, his teammates had to babysit him at every event to stop him from breaking Haechangs nose again... atleast not in public. His teammates bicker why can't leader just kill haechang and take uke? It's easy for him. But Owen is too scared of uke never forgiving him or him not being able to control his passion and reverse guiding hyoseop to death, it has already happened before, which was why Coda lied about hyoseop guiding him in the hospital that time...


At another one of these events, a socialite tried to chat with uke along with her friends. They started discussing Ano and uke felt the urge to cry, until the socialite let slip that Piano x Owen was a hoax and they were brothers. Uke got excited hearing this but then realised it changes nothing since they can't really go back... Hyoseop enters that time of the month right at the party, Owen notices and shyly tries to talk to him, when he realises what's going on he whisky uke away. Haechang intervenes and threatens legal action but Owen is determined. He won't let anyone have Hyoseop in this condition, even if he dies from holding back reverse guiding. Owen initially entered the bedroom confident in his ability to hold back reverse guiding but he'd underestimated the affect hyoseop had on him, just smelling his scent drove Owen to tear ukes clothes, he was panting like an animal, just a kiss drove him to bite his lips until he bled, but he was absolutely determined to hold back his reverse guiding, it was a long Night...

When uke woke up, he recalled how Owen kept holding back and consoling uke that he was in danger so he can't allow reverse guiding. For the first time, uke realised that Owen wasn't avoiding him cuz he lost interest, but because he felt responsible for ukes rank drop. He wondered if Owens feelings might've been genuine. Coda was right there, ready to drop him off. Coda requests uke to stay away from Owen, uke asks why, to which Coda reveals that Owen had accidentally killed someone through reverse guiding, that guide was his own brother, Ano. Most believe Ano died because of the monster but the truth was, 10 years ago, the monster wanted a new body and the most ideal candidate was Owen, so he attacked Ano to get to Owen, but Owen protected Ano so the monster changed targets and chose Ano, nobody could stop it. But Ano was an SS Level guide and immediately figured out that as long as his body had no powers the monster would be defeatable. Ano had Owen reverse guide all the powers out of his body, once drained, the monster's poison allowed Ano's chest to explode and he died immediately. Nobody could defeat the monster with Anos face and the dungeon ended with death, disaster and trauma. Coda despite being Ano's lover never blamed Owen but Owen was guilt ridden nonetheless. Coda explains that he saw the same distraught Owen when everyone thought Hyoseop walked into a mutated dungeon. He claims that leader survived two ordeals but if there's a third time...

Hyoseop has a nagging feeling like he's getting more powerful and decides to get his rank reevaluated. While awaiting results, he had to attend a meeting with the top guilds where the topic is the mutated gates. The American guild requests Owen to handle the matter since all other Espers seem to get a strange debuff everytime the enter it. Owen revealed that he knows how to stop those gates for good, all these years, onaip has been involved in not exactly criminal but illegal smuggling of materials from dungeons that have weird Arabic inscriptions on it. The twins finally managed to decode the text and it revealed they had to destroy 12 statues inside the dungeon to stop these gates. While Owen acquiesced, the other leaders insisted on getting Owen a guide to avoid a rampage like last time. Owen is irritated and straight up refuses any help, in that instance, Hyoseop volunteers to guide Owen. Hyoseop later apologises to Haechang for not consulting him but Haechang doesn't mind. However, he does try to incite the uke again, saying have you forgiven Owen? You know he's obsessed, cunning etc etc but this time, uke could actually see through his intentions and gave him a piece of his mind. He told haechang that he was grateful for the help but he can't keep ignoring all the discord Haechangs been sowing, not to mention he knew Owen was working on guide amplifier but made it seem like he was cheating on uke. Haechang is left speechless but uke is more angry at himself because he knows most of them issues stemmed from miscommunication.

It was their first guiding session and Owen was extremely reluctant. He constantly refused Hyoseops attempts and when uke started wondering if the mutated gates started appearing because of him (there was a strange rock at the old man's house that was broken by Owen and it mightve started the mutated gates) and blaming himself, Owen is stupefied and says no no you should be blaming me I was the cause of it all, I shouldn't have broken the stone and made you run away... their guiding session is cut short everyday by Owen who feels like he's on tenterhooks whenever he sees hyoseop use he's powers. They'd barely start and Owen would run off, scared of hurting uke again.

The rank reevaluation result comes in and uke had actually advanced to SS Level, the fevers and stuff were because he was undergoing a change not because of Owen's reverse guiding side effects. He feels like now they're a perfect match on equal footing. Haechang advises uke to not reveal this to the public for his own safety and is even more unwilling to let uke go now since if the ukes rank is revealed, the bureau would once again become the top ranked guild in the country. Haechang feels the urge to remove Owen forever since hyoseop can't be won over after he saw through Haechangs ruse. During one of their guiding sessions, uke proposes kiss guiding and Owen is so mesmerised he can't control himself. He felt like a beast drooling over his beautiful guide, it's just kissing but Owen doesn't want it to end. They finally talk about Ano, how he died and there was finally some communication! Uke asks if Owen would want him after he became an SS guide, Owen says don't worry I won't try to posess you because I want to be with you out of love not obsession.

Owen is planning on moving to Argentina after he resolves the gate and has already sold his office and everything. Uke knows about if and says he has something important to tell him on their 10th guiding session. Owen is hopeful, could it be... a confession? But he is scared that he's getting ahead of himself again. Hyoseop finally reveals that he became an SS rank, Owen thinks its because Haechang manipulated the narrative but when uke shows him medical reports he is left stupefied. He repeats ukes every word like a fool, uke asks Owen if he loves him. Without waiting for an answer, uke confesses that he still lives Owen, that he tried to forget but couldn't. Owen became serious and admitted he might still be obsessed with uke but uke replies it's not obsession since Owen has so far respected ukes wishes and is no longer trying to posess him alone. But right before they could finish the guards urge Owen to resolve the gates since creatures have started coming out of it now. Owen is reluctant, he says I don't care for a world where you don't exist. Uke promises that he'll wait for him outside the dungeon and keep his promise this time. Andante blushes and keeps looking back every step, usually it takes him ten minutes to finish a dungeon, but this time, he's done in three. He rushes back to the room they were staying in and all he finds is a cooled down coffee cup. Owen freezes, he starts spiraling into a rampage out of pure heartbreak, ah he messed up again, why did he wait to say he loved hyoseop too did hyoseop change his mind because of it? when the universe finally gave him a second chance why didn't he beg on his knees! "Hyung?" Just as his thoughts were about to overwhelm him, he heard hyoseops voice, uke was bewildered, how did Owen finish a dungeon this quickly? Did he even enter it? But Owen was staring at uke without blinking, confirming if it was indeed hyoseop and not an illusion. He suddenly embraced uke and kept shivering while mumbling " Don't go, don't go hyeoseop ah" hyeoseop literally only went to the restroom for three minutes but Owen got all pouty and kept complaining "why weren't you here? I thought you left me again" hyoseop felt guilty and finally worked up the courage to say "hyung, I won't run away, back then you reminded me of someone... from my past" Owen admits that he already knows, when hyoseop was missing, Owen had pulled out every piece of info on hyoseop that existed, that's when he found out. He apologises constantly and admits he's no better than that asshole esper, he was too focused on enjoying ukes affection all the while feeling he didn't need to reciprocate because he was above all that. Uke explains all the reasons why he left, when Owen discovers he told uke he was using him on their first night, Owen wanted to strangle himself. Owen continuously expressed regret and resolved all the misunderstandings they had.Owen once again realised how selfish he'd been, relying on ukes feelings for him but never giving him any security.

In this moment Owen wasn't a hero but a humble man in love, he begged uke to let him be by his side again. The longing, the waiting, the torture, Owen never wanted to experience any of it again, Hyoseop forgives Owen and they profess their love for each other.

Onaip members return to a blinding scene of being served dogfood (slang for PDA) by their commander and hyoseop. Owen wouldn't let hyoseop get off his lap and is being the clingiest he has ever been. He keeps begging uke to come live with him and sever ties with the national bureau. But uke has a strong sense of responsibility and convinces Owen to wait until the contract is over in 6 months. Thunder strikes Owen as he can't bear the thought of being away from uke that long, he sneakily tries to convince uke by saying, do you want to date me while keeping a separate bondage partner? What will happen if the media finds out? I'm worried they'll chastise you! But Owen's plan backfires as uke agrees that they can't be together while he's acting as Haechangs bondage partner so they'll have to wait until the contract is over. Owen is left in tears.

Haechang and uke are attending a meeting together when haechang suddenly thanks uke for honoring the contract even though he's with Owen now. Uke wonders how he found out. Haechang asks why he stayed and he replies that he was grateful for Haechangshelp even though he made mistakes... for the first time, haechang sincerely thanks and apologises to uke. When they're about to start the meeting, hyoseop surprisingly notices youjin in the crowd, he has now become the French guild leaders bondage partner. Hyoseop feels guilty and confides in Haechang after the meeting, Haechang keeps telling uke to not mind youjin. Youjin was waiting outside the meeting room and remarks "the one who's not at fault feels like a criminal while the one at fault is nonchalant" youjin reminds uke to not feel sorry for him because it was not his fault, he's also glad hyoseop is alive and apologises for running off his mouth about him and Owen causing all those misunderstandings. He also rebukes Haechang and gloats at how despite thinking he'd be no.1 by changing and firing guides, he still couldn't shake Onaips position. Haechang admits he lost but also eerily says he hasn't given up yet.

Flat and czerny start teasing Owen, they claim they saw Hyoseop buy flowers in an engagement tuxedo, they claim that hyoseop might have someone else he plans on marrying while dating Owen. Owen rushes to the location only to find uke inside a classroom in a gorgeous tuxedo, demonstrating how Koreans get engaged with Tina as his partner. It was a class observed by parents and Tina had invited hyoseop. Owen despite knowing it's childish, bickers with Tina about who's going to marry hyoseop. Owen lies that Korean law forbids ordinary citizens from marrying guides or espers, it's total bullshit, there are no laws about marriage between espers and guides since they usually bond by marking instead. Hyoseop is embarrassed and asks Owen to stop arguing with a kid. But Owen is adamant and secures a verbal promise to not only live together but also get married as soon as Hyoseops contract ends. Right after the agreement is over, Owen without missing a second, drafts a new contract for Hyoseop to work under, it had cleverly hidden clauses like, "hyoseop will stay with Owen until Owens death, hyoseop will not guide any esper other than Owen, he will live together with Owen and won't talk to any living being other than Owen for more than 10 minutes" not to mention, it was a lifelong contract. Hyoseop suggested he wanted to ask for his own clauses, Owen asks him to demand whatever he wants since he's confident he'll give him anything he wishes for. Hyoseop asks for a kiss, and the main story ends.

Phew that's all I could read two months ago, I had exams so I couldn't read the side stories, there are 52 Side stories and it's still ongoing. Anyway, it was ALOT of fun (≧∀≦), I loved the enthusiasm and compliments I received from you guys. Have a wonderful day ahead lovely people!
