Heres a short explaination
Some People have super powers those people are espers, the more you use them the more corrupt you become. It will take a mental toll on yourself. Once it teaches a certain level of corruption you go beserk. Basically becoming a danger to everyone. People of different classes S to F tier appear. S being best and F being worst. S tiers have the most power but usually can corrupt themselves faster. This is where guides come in, Similar to espers guides are ranked S to F tier and theres also a compadibility level with others. How high your compadibility is with another is important to helping get rid of the corruption level of a esper. To guide a esper you have to touch them in some way. The more um deep the touch or the more skin contact is made, the more effective it is. If you arent compadible then the guides touch or guiding will hurt. Which is why some espers dont have guides or refuse it.
This is usually a BL trope which is why some have never heard of this. This is the best i can explain for now. Leave comments if you have questions
