Pretty sure the cassette tape holds memory of the npcs so when be took it and not let it save the npcs are reset and lose all there memory well thats my guess

They’re save points to save game progress. For Bada it’s interpreted to save his findings throughout the game BUT for the NPC’s it saves their memories from the last game. Although I am a still confused about Doha and the himbo’s cassette tapes… I mean, was there always more than one cassette tape? and how did Bada never see that.
Actually i think the chapters are not really that short, maybe its just because there are less conversation and more like panels of expressing emotions so we scroll down more faster? Well that’s just what i think, would also love to have it longer any other way.
