For those who say bl is fetishizing gay men. We. Are. Not. All. The. Same. Regrettable there are tons of manga that do fetishized mlm, but then again there are so many of us that dont read that shit. With that there are SOO MANY bls that are beautifully written and we don't reflect those expectations in real life. Personally I read bl because most times in hetero mangas I subconsciously reflect those unhealthy expectations onto real relationships, and most times it ruins the book. Although In bl we dont do that because as you guessed it we are not gaymen. Therefore we only read bl for the story and plot. Sure there are people out there that read it for the seggs but we are NOT the same. Also I just wanted to mention bl is a genre, it is incredible because it spreads messages about the struggles in the lgbtq. Thanks for reading and I hope you understand.
Tbh, i don't really understand what people like so much about bl, i mean i read all romances genre, yuri, yaoi or shoujo, if the story is interesting. In all genre, there's a pile of gem and there's also a pile of trash.
But it is so damn frustrating when some people keep on wishing that this manhwa was bl, like what difference will it make? Will the story be somehow amazingly better if it's about two boys instead? I think people like that is the one that could be said 'fetishizing gay men'
Yeah I get where your coming from when people wish it was a bl. I find those kinds of people annoying, like go read something else or try something different. Personally I read bl or any lgbtq mangas because of the story their gender doesnt really matter unless the plot evolves around it. Its lovely seeing the trope where people accept them or work their relationship around problems that hetero couples wouldnt need to worry about.
