I wouldn't say dumb necessarily just naive. Lots of people forgive molesters/abusers irl which is sad and it sucks that in a lot of mangas these people don't face consequences for doing things like that so it just seems like its okay for people to get away with that which is wrong
Maybe its like theyre saying "learn from your mistakes" cause if i were in that kind of situation, i feel like i would forgive them too especially when theyre like blinded by their emotions that they become very irrational and do some unforgiving things, to some. Like yeah they disappointed and broken my trust but if that person is someone quite important to me, i think i would do the same but ofc they wont get away wthout getting a warning from lmao
