Y'all takin orders?

It's just full of rape culture and it's honestly disgusting. I hate when manga/manhwa writers coerce their readers into thinking that the mindset that rape among men isn't that serious. Never in the manga's that include rape do they ever go to the police and get that rapist prosecuted. You are encouraging the idea that rapists should go without prosecution and rape isn't a big deal. Somehow rape always happens in yaoi it's almost never addressed. Stop making rape essential towards plot and encouraging rape culture.

I'm glad you reconsidered. I've read a lot of manga that included rape in the past although I didn't know when I started reading it, it would be included in there. But yaoi writers need to start writing that consent is clearly given as well. Sorry to lecture you I just want to make sure you guys don't have the rape culture mindset

I continued to read it because I thought the mc would get saved and Yule would get his ass whooped or something. Hopefully you don't find rape appealing anymore it is disgusting and harmful to others and I'm glad you decided to change your opinion. The people I hold responsible are the ones who write stuff like this

I'm glad you've changed your point of view. Even though it's fiction it's still not something we should find appealing I hope you can find many manga's/manhwa's that writes more about healthy relationships

The rape aspect of a story like this is not meant to be appealing, nor is anyone supposed to get off on this. People seem to forget that stories can be depressing and disturbing. In the end, people should not be using works of fiction to learn proper sexual conduct or develop a moral code. Anything they enjoy about this or attempt to apply to real life is strictly their fault--the writer should not be held responsible for the readers' mindsets. They aren't coercing anyone... They just want to tell a story.

I understand what you're saying and I respect your opinion and I do agree with some of it but I will agree to disagree. I'm not just talking about this manhwa I'm talking about the community of yaoi writers as a whole. Maybe they don't mean to coerce anyone but when the community is constantly writing about characters being raped and it being acceptable is not okay with me.

Then by your point, I claim that the story is shit. Yeah it has rape and rape is bad. But holy shit this was 70 chapters of bullshit. There was no deep psychological explanation to how the seme became so twisted, little to no character development and to back it off it’s just endless fucking and raping. You can’t tell me the author was trying to tell a story through 73 chapters of pure rape. It’s like putting together an album of porn and calling it a tv show.

But in a serious manner, the author IS held responsible for the work they put out. Because rape culture in any aspect that’s romanticize can legally be accused as propaganda because it has the abilitly to send a message of justifying heinous acts or encourage indulgence of said acts whether it be clearly intentional or not. There is a reason why DOZENS of countries strictly outlaw these works of media because it has been proven to warp the mindsets of the viewer. Many dark works (i.e Killing Stalking) are exceptions because they successfully portray the reality of a warped relationship and doesn’t attempt to justify or give it a happy ending therefore showing the reality and seriousness of rape.

Well you're allowed to have your opinion of it and I can't say you're entirely wrong. I was just giving my thoughts. I don't think this had a happy ending at all and I thought the whole thing was quite disturbing. I'm sorry if you took offense to anything that I said, but I think a writer should be allowed to write and portray anything anyway that they want--again, this is a work of fiction. If people can't handle the content, they shouldn't be reading it. It's a fairly simple matter, actually. In the end, the reason we write fiction is because we want to shape reality in ways that fall outside the norm of how things actually are, and sometimes people just don't do it correctly or in a way that meets others' expectations. There isn't much you can do about it other than give your two cents and move on.

I wasn’t necessarily trying to directly attack you but explain the actual psycholgical reasoning and legal matters to why this manhwa and works romanticizing rape are more-so toxic works of media. Writers do have the right to create whatever they want to and portray reality in their perspective, but by making it public to the world they can influence others.

This manhwa shows us a negative aspect with chapter 73 by portraying a “happy ending” scenario where the rapist tries to “be better”. It basically slaps a reform together in 30 pages and makes it seem as if 3 pages of the rapist buying food for the MC would make him a good guy after 70 chapters of raping and manipulating him. There is no bitter ending that makes the story dark or true to the horrors of being a rape victim or victim of stockholm syndrome. Rather it paints rape in the light and looks down on the PTSD of victims.

Because of this, this manhwa is extremely toxic. If the 70 chapters of rape were not for a plot or to explain the realities of rape then why should this be justified? Authors do have the right to write whatever they want but they should understand their level of influence. This manhwa essentially looks down on PTSD rape victims and without the realities of rape or any psychological developments it’s merely a yaoi for people to indulge on. And with this indulgence and the “happy ending” some audience can be affected and soon enough have fantasies about rape that humanize the act rather than demoralize it.

I apologize for writing so much, but I do have to say it. I believe in your point of view and believe that it is a great opinion, but I can not say that it applies to this certain manhwa. Being okay with romanticized rape is NEVER okay. It’s not just because it goes against society’s general morals but because when in media, it can really damage the psychological values of people and it’s not only their fault.
