The Spinel themselves didn't kill his parents, but the parents were killed because of them, in the sense. They opposed the kings slave order and other nobles, and they were murdered for that. Remember when the Prince order his man to get rid of those Nobles, in part because they were responsible for killing Rowell's parents... but I would've loved some more chapters to, this was good in a strange way lol
