Hello. Actually, I hated Eugene as well first. He's truly an irritant at the start because he will attempt to sow discord between MC and ML a lot of times. But he actually knows a guide's worth and he encouraged Jin Hyo-Seop (MC) to stay hidden when he went far away from Andante (hehe). He himself knows that most espers treat guides like trash. But this only happened after the SS-Class Dungeon Arc because they stayed together that time as guides at the NSA guild, which I'm not a sure if you want a spoiler to.
As for MC and ML relationship, I can assure you they will get happy ending. AND, the best part is Andante will suffer almost half of the novel, hihi.

The chapter he started to suffer and the chapter and the chapter where entered every dungeon making their guild top 2 or something in the world are a little far with each other because Jin Hyo-seop ran away two times with the second time being worse. He started suffering at ch 115 and he started going to almost every dungeon at ch 134.
