Yeah i think we asian have that honorific word to call older person that can be used in formal way, but also can be use in affectionate way, this affectionate way even differs to familiarity (like platonic friends/siblings) and intimacy (like lovers), one word that can be used in so many different contexts... i'm not korean and my country is not from east asia, but we have equivalent word to translate this
Manta should consider this, they're not just translating a simple language, but also a whole culture, english obviously doesn't use 'bro' in an intimate way that can be interpreted as referring to lovers, so they shouldn't translate it to 'bro' and use the original korean word instead
