They actually dropped a lot of hints that he is a guide. You can see from the previous eps that he 's a guide but the ML messed with his exam records so that the MC can live a normal life.
He wanted to hide him from the world, but he knew long before that he was his guide so when he met him at the testing area he messed with the results to keep him hidden away safe and far from the hell that Guides go through since he couldn't protect him in that environment until now when he can clearly protect him.

it was a good story but what.the.f… happened at the end? like the plot twist was so crazy and i actually really didn’t like it. girl you loved him and you changed your mind like in one sec and than as alternative he still loved you but wanted to kill you? who was responsible for the ending???
