They were teenagers at their first death and grew up again. If anything they might have problems mentally but aside from that they are very mature they just have their childish moments. And if we were to reset their mentality they would barely know how to speak and walk at their age.
Their mentality did not change, though? Even as teenagers, if a person was treated like that, it would definitely cause them trauma. Just because you are "mature" doesn't mean you cannot be traumatised. Also, they definitely act like their (mental) age. Normal kids wouldn't be able to think like that. They cannot be fooled by mere words, they know what they need to do to survive, they have set up plans for the future, and they just simply want to be happy. Isn't that mature enough? Also, I think they just simply don't have anyone to trust and they literally don't know anyone much so it's hard for them to actually figure out who to trust and believe.
I do agree that the whole reincarnation thing doesn't help the story that much though. Aside from being able to trust and be comfortable with each other because they were twins before, there's not really much about their past. Maybe it's just for "being interesting" 's sake, idk.
the heck do you mean? they are extremely mature for their age even though they went through so much abuse and neglect! sure their way of thinking is warped and may seem dumb from someone who cant empathize with them.
