on the fence with how i feel about this one. the characters are incredibly interesting and really carry this one, i want to learn more and more about all of them. very dark with multiple rape scenes and discussions of suicide and abuse. protag is great and love interest is….less so, but at least it keeps you hooked. i feel like the development of their relationship was kind of icky and the power dynamic is a bit awkward at times, but i don’t rlly like possessive weirdos so it’s probably me. the main relationship isn’t toxic, i think them learning to be vulnerable with eachother again is really sweet. the brother is a piece of work. kinda wish the two other antagonists had gotten worse off honestly. super interesting premise and it’s hard not to enjoy the protag getting back at the boy’s bullies, especially the brother. no one is really a good person in this one, but that’s part of what makes it so interesting honestly !! it’s a testament to how much it makes u think that i can talk about it all day. there’s a lot of interesting themes and power dynamics. it’s a good, complicated trauma recovery and revenge story.

honestly no bl will ever measure up to the perfection of this one. everything about it, from the lovely characters, adorable relationship (there are two side pairings that i adore too) and really complex discussions of sexuality, especially in china, it’s all amazing. the art is gorgeous and just. perfect romance honestly. i adore yuyang and chu huanwen with my whole ass heart and could talk about them and their struggles all day. a MUST READ
