This is easily one of my fave manhwa’s because the mc isnt just an orphan who has no reason to go back home and gets accustomed to her new life quickly but someone who genuinely is trying to go back. It’s much more realistic and relatable. Even the topics such as jealousy, having to grow up quickly, disliking someone not because they did something to offend you but their very existence contradicts your own and that one chapter where she talks about randomly wanting something just for the reason of wanting it, I’m sure most people have felt that. And now the explanation of Helena is executed very well, I don’t know about y’all but I’ve been in similar situations as Helena, (acting as if I didn’t see anything wrong with the situation) and I can understand the way she felt in those moments and why she did what she did. Of course just because she has a sad backstory doesn’t mean she’s excused and the author made that clear. Even the original Eris was relatable working so hard but not even having it acknowledged and being labeled the bad guy because doesn’t act like everyone else. ANYWAYS WHAT IM TRYING TO SAY... I have an obsessed with historical & isekai manhwa’s but after the first few months of reading them they quickly got boring as they usually follow the similar storyline (other than those based around adventure) even revenge storyline started to become repetitive,, so reading this was really refreshing and I really hope more stories like this come out.
hey so if anyone has read the novel could you please spoil me on why Jeremy got so attached to Roxanna in the first place,, like it vv clear she’s the only person he only cares about but never said why
I did not read the novel, however, I assume it is because she showed him affection/acceptance. I remember in an earlier chapter Jeremy was upset because "they look at us like we are monsters" (or something like that). Roxanna was prob the only one who offered him any comfort (she prob was especially nice to him since he gets obsessed with the female lead in the original story who ends up getting her killed).
I imagine abused children/children who come from abused households cling to anyone with a little bit of kindness/acceptance.
