Yo lowkey could you explain to me like I’m 5 I’m so lost rn I don’t get the choosing part

Owen love nux so he keeps going back to the past to be with him, but nux ends up getting so mad he dies which makes Owen go back to the past where he’s alive. Each time nux dies Owen keeps a coffin. Nux is making him choose between killing him again then returning to the past where nux is alive and waiting for him to return or he can just let what’s to happen happen and allow nux to die from anger again and move on.

Basically he’s saying he either has to kill me and return to the me that’s waiting for you or let me die the way I’m supposed to and move on.

I would just like to add that it reminds me of the main character of Eternal Covenant, Ian and how he voice at how upset he is that the person he likes seem to only care about his past self who has passed away many years ago.

Despite them being the same person, there is a disconnect between him and his past self that has died multiple times. So it seems like Owen doesn't love him as he is right now and just focus and grieve for the past version

Unfortunately, the empress will plot a marriage for her with Carcel’s younger brother in order to save Escalante from the emperor’s demand that they prove their loyalty. This will cause an uproar in the Escalante household because not only does Miguel, Carcel’s younger brother hate her, his fiancée had just recently died. However, the father wanted to go along with the engagement so that Carcel doesn’t have to part in a war where everyone said he will die. Miguel hates Dolores because she used to treat his fiancée unkindly.

Dolores’s mother is a married countess. Basically the emperor slept with a married woman and got her pregnant. Her mother is still married to the count and her biological family refused to raise Dolores so the empress decided to adopt her and raise her but didn’t allow her to take the imperial family name.

I hope Carcel's brother doesn't have to go through the pain of marrying such an unpleasant person

Fortunately, Carcel decides he would rather risk going to war to prove Escalante family’s loyalty than for his younger brother to enter a loveless marriage when he didn’t need to especially since he’s not the heir but the second child. It’s normally the heir who has to marry politically. Younger brothers get more leeway to marry for love. Carcel also stated that he wants his younger brother to marry a woman he loves.
