Denial is a river in Egypt
I’m seriously considering dropping this because I have no fucking idea how they’re going to recover after 101. They had a nice heartfelt moment here but then all hell breaks loose done and I’m NOT READY TO LOOK AT IT
No way Ilay actually has feelings bro that mf is emotionless don’t play with my head
You’re telling me this ass story could’ve been a WORK OF ART GL??? This is my 9/11 I hate you
I don’t even know where to begin or how to feel. I read the entire thing in one sitting when I was in middle school. At the time I was extremely mad that Haesoo didn’t end up with Taku, but rereading it again after getting older, I’m starting to realize a lot more things I never realized in the beginning.
Joowon was always endgame. He was from the VERY beginning, and I don’t know how I never noticed it. It was obvious that the story started with him, and would end with him. I’ve had an extremely similar relationship to Joowon and Haesoo, and I know first hand that it’s inevitable for them to come back to one another in the end. Taku’s feelings felt very surface level during the entirety of this manhwa, up until the very end when he realized how serious it was to him. But the fact he drew comparisons between Haesoo and candy just displays his childlike outlook on love, which was bound to fail. And honestly?
I think Haesoo was kind of a villain through the entirety of this thing. I get it, it’s a love triangle story and the entire plot was him picking between the two men. But the way he handled everything was so childish. He hurt Taku, and dragged Joowon along the entire journey before finally deciding “Wait I actually love you oops.”
And honestly? Now I’m not even mad that Joowon won Haesoo’s heart over in the end. The whole stepbrothers thing was really weird to me, but I feel like the story itself is too complex to be mad at that. Joowon and Haesoo have a connection built off the need for familiarity in their lives, so I’m kind of happy they got together. I’m sad Taku was so upset over losing Haesoo, but his feelings were too mild for the entirety of their relationship for me to mourn his own loss.
5 star manhwa overall, I’ve never been so frustrated reading something in my life.
Ugh Dan my poor baby you don’t deserve any of this please kill Jaekyung in his sleep
