Noooooo my mind is going in an entirely diff direction.
I really hate authors who puts second male leads in painful situatioms. Actually, I hate a story with second male lead at all. Because it is painful seeing then give their best and hoping they'll be picked by the fl only to get hurt. And when they're hurt, it hurts too. They didn't do anything so why nust their story be painful. Just give them a girl who will love them as they are or make then realized sooner that they will only get hurt further if they continue their feelings. Please.
YESS and them being second lead and getting hurt doesn't even add anything to the story
