Yeonjin previously mentioned that one reason for him purchasing Moonhyuk is to anger is father. I would assume Yeonjin's father found out about the relationship and thought Yeonjin's motive was to provoke him (his father was caught by young Yeonjin when he was with another man in his office so the father may think this was Yeonjin's way of revenge) Yeonjin's father may have tried to hurt Moonhyuk to anger/warn Yeonjin of what he is capable of doing.
Moonhyuk's actual family? I don't recall the author ever mentioning this aspect, perhaps he was abandoned into a foster care (with his non-biological siblings) at a young age. Two possibilities he may have started fighting is 1. he needed money to leave the foster care with his siblings or 2. the foster care sent him to fight, in order to earn money for the owners (these are all theories though)
