I don’t know if I want her and the ML to end up together, but I don’t really blame him. He was 14 and more of a symbol of a usurp that was bound to happen. There wasn’t much he could do for her.
However, despite his age if he cared about her as much as he made it seemed he would have at least tried. If he was smart enough to go undercover in the enemy’s home, he could have at least made some attempt to spare her.

So it’ve been reading this for almost 3 years. I’m very excited for the anime and had a lot of questions. Therefore, as the impatient person I am, I sought spoilers.
So she ends up with a with a 40 year guy while she’s like 14. Ferdinand is a very handsome fellow, but FOURTY?!?! I understand that at 14 Myne would mentally be in her 30s but her body is at that of a child’s and she also underdeveloped. I just always thought she’d end up with Lutz.
Wait whaaaaat, so the first person we see in anime is her love interest??? (⊙…⊙ ) Also I didn't know that the anime was about this story at first so it was pretty shocking to see a kid drinking wine and some old dude going in her head without consent like wtf is happening (￣∇￣") thanks for letting us know

Its not really a love interest, more like a marriage of convenience. They didn't get married because they are in love with each other. I think he even asked her if she didn't want to find someone else to marry, someone who she will love and love her back. She didn't want that (Why?? ╥﹏╥) Although this story contains 0 romance is still a good read. I also wished for her to have a better ending but with the settings of this manga, including the year it takes place. Children marrying adults wasn't frowned upon. The guy is 29/30 yrs old not 40. But ether way its still horrible.

Ferdi have to go to another country to be engage (political)...Meanwhile Maine is already on her 2nd engagement... Maine and Ferdi exchange letters and gift during that span... Also something like the plot from full metal alchemist (mana stones) kinda happened near the end... I'm just stating how I understand the webnovel take note that part 5 of the light novel isn't finished for tankbon edition...
