It’s nice to see a family try and protect the person that’s getting sacrificed.
Very bold choice. I actually don’t know how Uriel will respond considering I didn’t even expect the kidnapping.
Cedric ate for killing his dad. I don’t think he’s a good person but similar to the Theo, as a child they only had so many options. Also, unlike Theo whose mother was reliable, both of Cedric’s parents traumatized him. The only person kind to him was his brother which caused his obsession.
Also, I don’t think Theo loved Cedric or anyone really, with the exception of his mother, platonically of course. Cedric and Theo are parallels of each other because Theo also develops an obsession with his mother, the only person he felt safe and loved by.
The obsession takes on a different form, but we see that Theo cannot escape his mother’s “ghost” even finding comfort in her presence sometimes. Even the hallucinations of her always take on a protective stance.
Also, can we talk about how scared she must have been. She held Theo in her arms every night scared something would happen to him. Which is another parallel as we see Theo holding Cedric in his arms at night also scared something might happen to the both of them.
Cedric was just more conscious of that fear due to having to mature early due to his own mother. However, I don’t think Theo was completely obvious to mother’s fears. I think he sensed she was protecting him to some degree as seen as how attached and obedient he is to her when she was alive. He missed her but also felt unsafe without her.
