You know I’ve been reading yaoi for years and these past months I’ve been mostly re reading old stuff and looking at the new shit and rarely getting interested in them - this yaoi is what I and most of us needed - an extremely fresh new type of story
The characters are amazing and surreal with the comedic timing nailed so perfectly - the plot is simple and quirky but that’s good enough - the art HOLY FUCK the art is so dynamic and flexible - you can tell the artist is very good at drawing space and the way a character moves around the space it’s truly amazing and we don’t deserve such art like this - I’m extremely grateful for this yaoi I love it
the scenes where it showed us the experience the black hair guy went as a kid was very disturbing - even tho the mother isn’t touching her child she still is sexually abusing him by carelessly having sex in front of him - seeing how she posted about her son doing cute things on social media irks me knowing the type of parent she actual is off screen- she’s exploiting her child and allowed him to be molested by the first bf
When the black hair kid realised how it wasn’t normal for a kid not to brush his teeth and wash everyday you can see he truly felt isolated and alone - this is very common for children facing abuse comparing their situations to others making this story very realistic
Not gonna lie i was pretty surprised by the way this trauma was told in the story - these types of plot has been told in other yaois before but it wasn’t shown in a realistic manner this one was - like I generally felt sick reading this - the trauma this kid has is very deep I hope for the romance aspect of this story the author doesn’t push for the cliche of the black hair guy realising he has no one else to depend on expect for the blonde guy
I also hope their romance develops naturally and that the trauma doesn’t get ignored and hope it gets treated properly I’m really liking this story I have high expectations for this yaoi
Andy‘s character development is so great I’m so proud of him - he really took action when others were too scared it was beautiful
my last assignment of the year is due tomorrow reading this yaoi has uplifted my mood about tomorrow A LOT I never knew I could laugh so much in one chapter - side note I love the art and how it changes depending on a scene LOVE
The story about the dad and how he changed in the last chapter was pretty nice I wished they showed more of that - tbh I’m more interested in the son-father relationship and acceptance of his sexuality more than the romance itself - it makes me happy the father changed but I wanted to see them meet up - could not care less about the seme or the shit ass rapist fuck them
they are so cute - never thought I would started loving the black hair dude I’m so proud of him
That's what we call character develop, which seems to be lacking in so many manga. At first we judged him on his bad actions, but the more we got to know him the better we understand him. At the same time DaYeol has reached out to him, which has helped him grow as a character.
I know - i love it so much we need more stuff like this
I beg to differ, in manhwa or webtoon which usually has more chapters than average mangasm it is easy to find some character developments...albeit in yaoi it is sometimes for the worse instead of better...like a tough and independent uke getting more and more clingy and timid the more it goes on, which is irritating..
Yet, manga usually only has like 5-7 of main chapters so hence why it's usually a quick resolve of plot without getting deeper to any character studies
