These are actually good stories that don't rely on love triangles, r4pe, or any childish nonsense to get the plot moving. The relationship between the coupled are also not toxic, and some, wholesome.
it's kinda funny when people who side with J.J get more hate than the one who sides with Leo. There are people saying that they're both at fault, but let's be honest, if anyone here has done more mistakes than the other, it's definitely Leo. Even though we're seeing it exactly in Leo's perspective, he's acknowledging it as well, people still try to defend him as if he's gullible and has no idea what's going on. He knows what's going on now, yet still there's no change in his behavior. The way he's acting in the present and how he's treating J.J is no different than the past. He's not learning anything.
I really don't get why you're all defending him, saying people who support J.J are projecting. How does that make sense? I saw someone saying that, but then admits they like toxic characters, yet somehow people who defend J.J are far more worse? I get that complex characters are interesting, theres character development, they go through ups and downs, but that hasn't happened with Leo yet, he's still the same as before and you guys are thinking like he's had his redemption arch just because he's all depressed now and realizing his mistakes have consequences. Get real.
If anyone here is projecting, it's those people that still think Leo is right, despite his flaws being laid out in front of everyone every single chapter, you guys still continue to play blind.
I don't know about you guys but I'm completely on J.J's side here. Mainly because I've been in his shoes too. It's easy to throw out the 'communication is key' shit but really if you're in that sort of relationship with that sort of person, that idea of just talking it out with them can be disregarded with their behavior. Sometimes you don't need an answer or an explanation to something, a person's actions are enough alone. When you constantly get treated like how J.J was, you get fed up that you won't even care about what the other person has to say anymore. Imagine your lover constantly showing you these red flags, it doesn't have to be similar to Leo's, you've tried pointing it out and the relationship has been going on for years and still his behavior doesn't change one bit. You'd start to think it's a lost cause.
Also, even if you guys say that they're both lacking communication, i feel like Leo's been the one to ignore the chances for it. J.J has been pointing out Leo's attitude towards their relationship, like how he feels like Leo is not treating him like a boyfriend, other things too, like how Leo prioritizes himself more without even sparing a thought of J.J, and it's not only J.J that's been calling out his behavior, it's their friends as well, even at the start before the break up. You guys can say that 'oh J.J knows that's what his personality is like before they started dating. he knew what he was getting into' No he didn't, Leo's out-going and extroverted personality has nothing to do with him failing to care more about his partner, his thoughts and emotions. And he may have been clueless that doesn't mean that that's an excuse and that you guys can just blame it all on J.J. He's failed to acknowledge J.Js words, failed to notice how his decisions impacted J.J, he doesnt even ask wether how J.J would feel or how he would feel about things. He thinks only for his own. I'm not saying he doesn't love him, but people can still be self-centered even if you're with the person you love.
So yeah...i have much more to say but I'm yapping too much. I felt like I didn't explain it properly so hopefully no one gets the wrong idea.

To this day this story remains no. 1 on my list. I don't know, i forgot why anymore. It's been so long since I last reread this, but I still keep recommending it to people. I just remember feeling so...satisfied? with everything in the story that it feels like there was no flaw. I remember starting this just for the romance, but the plot was so interesting, it even got me hooked on their politics too, and it didn't feel like reading a typical BL at all. I think with less of the intimate scenes, and more focus on the plot, this could've been a good story on a different genre. If you're reading comments, deciding if you wanna pick this up or not, you definitely should. It's beautiful, as far as I remember. Idk if you'll like it as much as I do, but I guarantee it's a good read.
