It should've just been like: "Black haired guy and our mc stay close friends and talk about their problems with eachother just like how it was at the start. Than one day that red haired guy comes back for our mc but gets more interested in the black haired guy and starts to pursue him." Dont get me wrong i like the main couple i just think the other characters deserved better and i think its stupid for all main characters to love one guy.

I don't know if it's consolation but in the novel, when the 1st timeline Ruve died, he was in great despair. His throne was snatched away from him, no one was on his side, he was constantly on alert because he was going to get assassinated and he could not protect anything. Just because of the poison they made him drink which slowly eroded his mind. On his last moments before he died, he only thought of Tia and was just looking at the moon (the symbol of the empress)
