On one hand Je-oh warned him and I get he wanted to believe the guy was being nice to him because he was kind but he also has a crush on the dude. Je-oh literally saved him and he chooses his crush over him. But I know shit won’t end well for him so I feel bad, I just hope he realizes he has no one to blame for this mess but himself and doesn’t become angry at Je-oh
I feel like this will be a tragedy and they won’t end up together. I keep thinking of the first panel of the first chapter, some old person (looks like a guy so it might be Goto?) is sitting by a lake with fireflies reading a letter while crying. And it hits different when you hear Goto talking about getting Satoko a house by a like so they can watch the fireflies everyday. Then they keep talking about her declining health and that chapter where she was skin and bones is scary. I want them to end up together and to be happy but I don’t think it’s possible.
Sooo I get most of my manga/manwha etc recommendations watching YouTube, this being no exception… in the video they state it’s her father reading a letter from her saying she fell for a man she shouldn’t have, and wherever she is, she is happy, some sites like the official (Comikey) have part of letter in English! BUT, I agree it definitely has a tragic vibe, and I’m not ready, nor can I look away…
Nooo, I like the Sandars, but it seems like they’re going to betray the empire over some sugar!? I didn’t know he was that kind of person
It's not just some sugar. The value of sugar and salt in older days were equal to gold. Since they are now so readily available, people have forgotten how scare it was. Before folks in india discovered how to make crystalline sugar from sugarcane that we consume today , the only source from of sweetness was from honeys, sweet tree syrups and fruits. Sugar was a prized commodity for most of human history. It wasn't just something that proved sweetness , sugar was also used in preservation of food items during a time with no refrigeration. It was only reserved for kings and queens , until it got heavily commercialized during colonization of America Africa and asia. There were places where the whole economy depended on sugar . Colonial united states was notorious for bringing in slaves from Africa just for their huge sugar plantations. Horrible conditions.

I just finished chapter 1 and I’m dying Ain’t no way I’m bowing in respect to the emperor, I would have already run out of the palace buy the time he glanced at the new eunuchs. They would see my after image because I instantly changed my mind about the job. You do not have to worry about me, you do not have to worry about me!
