The way Jeongin's name is written in chinese is 小情人 (xiao qing ren) in hangul is 작은 연인 (jag-eun yeon-in), in chinese those characters mean "Little lover" so maybe he thought it was too femenine? So it didn't fit him? Idk thats my guess ╮(￣▽￣)╭
Also, 연인 (yeon in), which is the name of the MC, and 情人 (qing ren) alone means "Lover" just to add up
