The novel said that man has two natures: good and evil. Jekyll and Hyde was the same person. Jekyll = good and Hyde = evil. At night when hyde overtakes his body, he kills a person but when Jekyll started to constrict that side, it began to become more powerful and kill a whole group of people
And maybe its a strange case of split personality and he's obsessed with the uke, not love.
