The way they executed it in the manga is way better than the novel though, here Remilia actually felt love for Angel because he saw Emi's version of her which she loved dearly. In a twisted way we can also interpret it as her falling for him bc let's be honest she's not a normal person, that's probably the closest we'll get to genuine love for her.
