There's no cheating, just a reincarnation plot. If I can make a suggestion, I'll say to read the 1st season and wait for the 3rd don't read the 2nd because it's about the past and it's reeeeeealy long it is like a different story altogether or just read like 10chapter of season 2 to have an idea
It's worth reading. But at this point, you should let it marinate for one year, then come back and read the SS1 along with SS2 (all flashback) in one-go.
