Surprisingly the jump wasn't that bad for me because I know Chinese. I get where you are coming from though, the sentence stucture and tenses used are wrong.
It's funny for me because I'm not a native English speaker, I'm a Spanish speaker. So, when I started to read manga on English it was really hard because I knew like just the basic (I'm still not that good), so I just picked like the words I knew and tried to find the general meaning. So, right now, it's like the same for me xD
