This was so predictable. I do feel bad for little Jaekyung he deserved so much better as a child. It’s incredibly hard for an abandoned child to rise so high, and I’ll give him credit for that. He worked hard, no doubt.
But in the end, he grew up to be just like his abusive, egoistic father. Instead of following in his father’s footsteps, he could have chosen to be more like the director who actually showed him kindness.
Yes, he went through trauma, but that doesn’t give him the right to be an asshole to others. If anything, someone who’s been through pain should be more empathetic, not less.
Kid JJ deserved the world.
But adult JJ? Eat shit you bitch

pretty realistic if you think abt it. so many abused pple end up being aggressive as a defense mechanism and are unable to connect with people emotionally cause they're damaged. not an excuse, but it is sth that happens too frequently. sth happens in your brain when you're abused and traumatized. some are able to heal or have the capacity to do better, but others remain in the victim mentality and harbor hatred unable to move from there even if they want.

I understand that having a traumatic past can shape a person’s behavior and attitude. Even in real life, a lot of the worst criminals have traumatic backgrounds but that still doesn’t justify their actions. Because at the end of the day, you are responsible for the person you choose to become.
JJ was shown kindness. That old lady cared for him, and thanks to the director, he got away from his father at a young age. He had a chance to break the cycle. But instead, with every match he won, he grew more arrogant. He became egoistic, someone who couldn’t even recognize or respect the pain and struggles of others.
Yes, his father played a role in shaping him. But he also made the choice to become the way he is

Please when I first saw the prologue, I genuinely thought this was going to be a story about two psychopaths The art style and the character designs gave off such intense vibes!
But wow… it turned out to be the sweetest thing I’ve read in a long time.
The 9.6 rating? So freaking valid.
Hands down, this is now on my list of favorite manhwa.

So I finally gave this a read after seeing all the hype around it. My feed has been flooded with this manhwa lately, and I already knew quite a bit about it thanks to all the spoilers I’ve seen. I was planning to let it sit for a while and binge later, but I couldn’t wait any longer and ended up finishing the first season.
Now I totally get the hype.
It’s not Zhenya—it’s Taekjoo!
He’s hands down my favorite character now. He’s honestly the reason this manhwa is so enjoyable. His presence just makes up everything.
And all the spoilers from the novel I just can't wait for season 2

Nah this is so stupid Just because you see two people smoking together and having lunch, doesn’t mean they’re dating!
How did he even jump to that conclusion especially when it’s so obvious how obsessed Chaeheon is with him?? Like fr, just talk! If you’ve got doubts, just ask
I’m dying from secondhand embarrassment at this point

Tried giving this manhwa a read after it popped up on my Insta reels, but I honestly couldn’t get past chapter 20.
This just isn’t my cup of tea. I really dislike tropes where one character treats the other like shit or clearly has no interest in them, yet the other person keeps going around them, wagging their tail just because they’re a sucker for a pretty or handsome face.
Ps. This is just my personal opinion—don’t take it any other way

totally fair opinion only being up to ch 20, but we do see some development where he realises his feelings for yoojoon and you can see a change in his behaviour as well. there’s also more to understand abt jiho’s character the further you read.
honestly if you were to pick it back up, i’d recommend just waiting for more chapters to see the story more fleshed out. :)

I see. Thanks for telling me that. Maybe when more chapters are out, I might try giving it another shot.
But just a quick question if you don't mind after reading chapter 19, I skipped ahead to the most recent chapter to check if there was any real progress or if it’s worth continuing. I saw that Yoonjoon finds out something about Jiho’s relationship with the school nurse.
So I just need some clarification:
Did Jiho actually have any kind of physical relationship with the nurse, or is it just that he’s obsessed with him?
I ask because I tend to get the ick when stories involve students and school nurse relationships it’s a trope I’ve seen in a lot of manga and manhwa, and it really puts me off.

okay honestly it doesn’t show much with the nurse besides from like how jiho was using him (it wasn’t physical) and then to the nurse being upset when jiho disregards him.
totally valid ick to have btw, i feel like it’s not necessary to the plot lines most of the time >_>
also not sure if this is your cup of tea either but latest chapter just gave us a 2 year time skip, plus probably another 2 because MC is going to the military….. nothing seems to be getting resolved only getting worse lol, atp just wait for the story to be complete

The story started off sweet, but lately it’s been giving me the ick. The seme has started to give off super creepy vibes. He’s horny 24/7 . At first, I didn’t really think about the body autonomy issue because BL often features petite and small-looking ukes, but now that more people have pointed it out, I can’t unsee it.
The uke genuinely looks like someone under 18, and that makes it feel really disturbing. Like, why is he drawn to look so tiny next to the seme? It’s starting to feel wrong instead of cute.
The slow burn is genuinely killing me. I need this to marinate because I can't take it anymore
Yet ..I don't think you can even marinate this XD
True that
