Seeing the last panel (how kinda cute he was) made me want the official translation team to actually do better with Jaegaeng's tone/speech cuz his speech/tone is actually improving along with his thoughts/actions but it doesn't show becs of the translation. Sooner or later let's face it, they'll be back together but the English readers won't feel like he changed enough or the chase was enough cuz he's still an asshat in our eyes because of the slight inaccurate translation.
The story was beautiful, if only the first part of the story was omitted. Cause what the fuck. No amount of sweet and sorrowful stories will make me forget just how much of a jerk seme is. He is a rapist, toxic, and manipulative. Even Hosik said that he was raped but it was pretty much glossed over. God it was awful. And the amount of times he coerced hosik was ridiculous. If only it didn't have any of those parts, this would've been top tiered. Their family life and so on was really heartwarming. I loved it. I try to suppress the earlier chapters cuz the end and sides were really really cute, top tier even.
Ngl, Sanho crying over sunbae paying for every one's drinks whenever he attends the get togethers feels so out of place and kinda forced. He didn't even cry when sunbae was harsh on him then he cries over him spending money. Lmao. He's such a cutie tho, despite the pretty stiff art. It's kinda funny when the dialogue says he's blushing when you can barely see pigment on them. The story's pretty simple and cliche but it's the good kind so it's good enough for a short light read. Sanho's back story tugged my heart (could've been more dramatic tbh if it flowed better and his expressions were more expressive) but seme's was pretty lacking art wise and story wise; he's so stiff, his expression doesn't move that much, you can't really tell how he's feeling unless the dialogue box says how he's feeling. I hope to see the artist's improvement in making the characters more expressive and natural, just like how we saw "K's Secret"'s artist improve right in front of our eyes.
I feel like there's a gap in my memory, I somehow can't grasp why he's making it a big deal that Jay's calling him uncle?
The uncle is insecure about their relationship because they’re both outcasts to the family so he doesn’t feel like he’s deserving of the uncle title but the irony is that Jay himself has always referred to him as his uncle because despite presenting himself as super stoic and uncaring he genuinely cares for him and thinks of him as family
BDSM is consensual, this is assault. Shit like these are the reason why it gets a bad rep. There's a clear line between BDSM and just plain abuse, it's called consent and it's not that hard to grasp, I wonder why authors always blurs that line. BDSM only involves consenting individuals, without consent, that's just assault!!!

The author seems to put all these realistic and fairly traumatic experiences in their stories without actually knowing how heavy it actually is, they just put it there for plot convenience and to make the story seem deeper than it is. But they don't actually know how deep the topics are and how one would actually act if they experience it. That's why in the story Hyesung has such a fcked up background story to make him miserable so the story can seem like a Cinderella or romanticized bs like that but the author doesn't understand the nuance and depth of what they wrote so they trivialize the rape, abuse, and neglect that they wrote into the story. They want to put it in their story but can't write it well enough to give justice. Smh.
You right bro. I expected too much from a cliche yaoi story. We should all dumb down our brains reading this
Yeah, I think you nailed it. Hyesung can be a total dunce in anything but math but his trauma is not something he can easily forgive and forget. Even pets have a learned response from bad behaviors. He can't get over it like that and give Dojin a pass. I can barely pass his response to Byul. Barely. Kid was grounded anyway.
But just like in Fargo's last story (the train wreck with the older sister,) they just spin the drama and let forgiveness happen so easily. Love is Illusion worked so well because Hyesung felt trapped, tried to give things a chance, fled because he felt trapped again, and ultimately decided to stay. Most of those decisions were within his character and backstory. Here, it's like he forgot his line and needed the cue card. I think we're all upset because the story made it work before and this just isn't measuring up.
