It’s actually called a cauliflower ear! It’s a great detail. Because a lot of boxers have ears like that from getting punched in the head so often! So it’s not with the art style but just a detail. To make it more realistic

I think jaekyung’s ears are like that because he is a fighter (cauliflower ear) it doesn’t look like the other characters have weirdly drawn ears (in my opinion)

for the most part i think it’s more of a stylistic choice of the author to have the ears stick out a bit more, but with jaekyung specifically the author is trying to show he has cauliflower ears - they come from direct blows to the ear which disrupts blood flow which causes that swollen look (and it’s permanent). so you’ll see it commonly in fighters like him and many regard it as a badge of honour / proof that they’ve had their fair share of fights.
lol I actually forgot cauliflower ears were a thing but even still going back to look on other characters I think the author was just trying to give them various ear shapes and styles? But it transfers over weird looking when it’s done through 2d art. So I don’t think all of them have cauliflower ears despite being fighters, some of them just got ugly ears :3
