He's born out of wedlock and his biological mom passed away after which his biological dad got him to live with his family which consists of his wife and a young daughter. His stepmom is concerned that her daughter might get feelings for her half-brother so he's made to live alone when starts highschool (?)
Like yes they were coddled, but they didn’t really do anything wrong when they weren’t being manipulated or taking advantage of Lucie. However, the latter was extremely normalized for the prince by literally everyone around him. How was he supposed to know better? When things did blow up in their faces they immediately decided they weren’t suited for their positions on their own too
You make a great point. Second Prince was really behind the shenanigans and now he’s dead. First Prince should have been placed on house arrest for an extended time and given some kind of reform education or training until he’s repented. The Saint should experience the same thing, except she’s to be put in a monastery and work until she’s repented. The King (and maybe the PM, Head of the Church, etc.) can revisit their case and the Head of the monastery and First Prince’s Teacher/Instructor can speak on their results. If they’re positive and the two have learned from their punishments then, maybe, they can resume their positions.
I wouldn't go far as to reinstate them. The citizens might riot, what they did was unforgivable.
