I'm kind of worried there's going to be a side-story/backstory for Kenji's mom which... I really don't want. (Because it's typical to show the abuser's side of the story.) I want her to stay in jail and never see her again but really... 4 years isn't that long....

This was really hard to stomach, which for me is saying a lot. I like realism when it comes to dark themes but that was a lot to handle.
