From what I saw it is a happy ending. The male lead suffered a lot during his childhood due to female leads parents and that is why he has a hatred towards her. Female lead suffers a lot as well. But in the end they do get together

As someone who likes tragic ending, i was satisfied by this story's ending. It was not rush. It was too painful, too detailed with emotions and all. And I was glad they are not like the other stories who got back together immediately. It'll take so much time as the story will revolved around war (yes there's one heck long of this in the novel and when it's finish it's like 2 chaps left before the last chapter). I recommend reading the novel. I just finished it last night + the extra 5 chapters and it was good.
