This is not the first time I have felt this reading this comic and the title obviously makes reference to it but, This story has some deep moments that just feel like a warm and adoring Ode to motherhood in all it's shapes. Whether it's biological or adoptive. They ponder and contemplate about the role and importance of this existence named "mom" how she's a concept, a person, an emotional attachment and what she does and represents. Even the fact that not all mothers are meant to be mothers. I don't have a good relationship with my mother so I find myself mourning for the relationship it could have been.
For some reason there's a part of me that is still slightly bitter that philia never the got real parental figures / parental love that she so desperately craved for. Yet Mia ended having both (her parents AND her aunt)
she got all the "love" and attention she could need from her real parents even if they secretly were actually trash human. And when that was done she gained an aunt/adoptive mother. But here's the thing, Philia never learned Hildegard was actually her mother and the time she spent with her was just harsh and strict training and Solely duty based. So in the end, the softer and more motherly side of her (Hildegard's) only gets to be experienced by Mia now. Philia doesn't get to have that with her
I wanna clarify I am not blaming Mia for this nor do I believe she doesn't deserve all the lover and sugar in the world because she absolutely does. I just feel bad for philia.
I felt the exact same way! I get that Philia's great happiness is finding people who appreciate her, but let's not forget that her muted facial expressions and personality started from a lack of parental love. It also seems like there is no intention of Philia ever finding out that her master is actually her mom, which is sad.
So Mia not only gets adopted and has the aunt's love and favor, but also will be the only one to know her secret. I just think it's sad.

Mitsuharu you're a good guy and I know that but that little display was fucking ridiculous and douche baggy to say the least. It took Like 3 skilled individuals to hold back shinpei who BTW is physically not even at his full potential because of his injuries and I KNOW your spoiled ass hasn't raised even a butter knife against someone else in your life. Talking big when you can't even do shit yourself is crazy work. You're a guy who was born and raised lacking nothing, shinpei on the other hand only has satoko as the only good thing in his life. Literally the only thing keeping him together at this point. And let's not forget about the most important part, IT'S NOT ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT, IT'S ABOUT WHAT SATOKO WANTS.
